Sunrise at Siegen

My 91 year-old Dad, who has dementia, recently moved to Sunrise in the memory care community. My siblings and I have had very good experiences with every aspect of the move and transition. The staff is awesome - very friendly, responsive and interactive to us and to Dad and his dog Mikey! The facility is beautiful.I would highly recommend Sunrise when it is time to find a senior living facility for a loved one!

Thank you, Sunrise at Siegen - Baton Rouge The Swick family would like to thank Sunrise at Siegen Assisted Living Facility in Baton Rouge and its Executive Director Brent Sellers for their loving care of our family member - Mr. Swick. Our family began researching senior living facilities that offered long-term and comprehensive care in the Denham Springs and Baton Rouge areas of Louisiana for or loved one. We reviewed nursing care homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing care centers and senior retirement homes. Plus, we read the online reviews posted on Google and other search engines. A majority of the senior retirement centers offered different levels of care and a variety of amenities. Some places looked luxurious with nice furnishings and lots of social activities and amenties but their online reviews told a different story about poor care for their senior residents. One surprise, that we found in researching the senior living options options was many of these senior facilities with full-time comprehensive care were a similar price to what we’d been paying for independent living with part-time daily caregivers. The comprehensive senior care facilities were more affordable then we’d thought. After many hours of research including - making phone calls, referrals from friends, reading online reviews posted on Google and other search engines, and talking with “A Place for Mom” (a senior living referral service) plus touring several senior facilities, we made our decision. Our research lead us to Sunrise at Siegen in Baton Rouge, Lousiana. We moved Mr. Swick to Sunrise at Siegen when he was 94 years old. During the in-take process, we’d been advised by Sunrise experts that the move would initially be confusing for him. The move did prove to be challenging, and also quite confusing. At times, my husband’s father would become confused and think he was living in a hotel or hospital, and he could get quite “spirited”. Brent and his team never lost their patience or temper. They were always caring, kind to Mr. Swick. My husband’s father received attentive care at Sunrise Siegen. When health problems would arise from time to time, the facility did a good job of getting Gene the care that he needed - and in a timely manner. They also followed up and kept our family updated with phone calls and emails. The staff at the assisted living facility was always helpful along with having a positive attitude. At Sunrise, you’ll notice that every detail is thoughtfully considered. When we brought my husband’s father to live at Sunrise at Siegen, they had placed a framed sign near the front door of his apartment that said “Pampa”. This is the special name that Mr. Swick’s grandchildren called him. This was a nice touch and thoughtful detail. We were glad that my husband’s father was able to maintain his freedom and his independence at Sunrise Siegen - while also having his additional health and personal needs taken care of at the facility. Sunrise Senior Living in Baton Rouge has a tiered system where you can add “extra care” services (that cost additional) to traditional assisted living care. Some of these “extra care” services include - assistance with bathing, dressing, and help with eating meals, etc. My husband calls it an “A La Carte” menu of additional care. This allowed us the peace of mind of not having to place Mr. Swick in a more restrictive nursing home environment. He was able to keep his independent and active lifestyle with lots of amenities and activities - while also receiving top level care with the extra assistance that he needed - and all in a compassionate, positive and caring environment. Steve and I would like to highly recommend Sunrise at Siegen in Baton Rouge, LA. If your family has a senior or loved one that needs extra care and attention. We believe Sunrise at Siegen, Brent Sellers and his staff will exceed your expectations plus give your loved one the care they deserve - while giving you peace of mind.

Our mom recently became a resident of the memory care unit. The staff have been very responsive to her needs. They have also kept the family informed of her status. The facility is clean and well maintained. Good systems are in place for proper care.

Sunrise has been a blessing for my dad. The staff has consistently worked to keep myself and the rest of his family informed of what is going on with his care. The staff is like a second family to us. Rosalyn, Crystal, and Ruthie are next level great and make it feel like home for my dad. I'm not sure where we would be without Sunrise!!!
