    Wisteria Lodge is a family-owned Adult Family Home nestled on a serene one-acre property in Buckley, surrounded by evergreens and views of majestic Mt. Rainier. Opened in 2016 and licensed for six residents, our home offers personalized 24-hour care in private rooms — a true alternative to larger facilities where every resident is known, respected, and cared for like family.
    All meals are prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients. Our menus are personalized to each resident’s dietary needs, preferences, and medical requirements — from heart-healthy and diabetic options to comfort foods that bring joy and familiarity. Mealtimes are shared, home-style, and full of conversation.
    Our days are filled with meaningful routines and gentle engagement — morning walks, music, crafts, storytelling, or simply tending to our flowers together. These small rituals help maintain emotional balance, mental sharpness, and a genuine sense of belonging.
We work in seamless collaboration with our family doctor, pharmacy, and care partners to ensure that health and wellness are managed smoothly and consistently. My sweet, happy & funny 102-year-old momma has been at Wisteria Lodge for over 7 years now! We knew we had to find some place special for mom after our dad passed away. She suffers from dementia and needed to be in a memory loss care facility, since she can get very confused at times. Thank goodness Wisteria Lodge supported that type of care! Carolina and Mark, the mother-son duo, are so understanding and compassionate, and very knowledgeable in this type of situation. We had toured other AFHs before touring this one, and wow, there was no comparison—this home has a spacious open floor plan, with the kitchen & family room looking out to the expansive deck, large back yard, and Mt. Rainier through floor to ceiling windows! This was especially exciting to us since our mom and dad had a view of Mount Rainier in their previous log home they had built on Harstene Island. Wisteria Lodge also has spacious bathrooms and every bedroom has a window. Carolina & Mark have a great sense of humor, which helps to create a light mood & fun atmosphere & is such a great fit for my mom & our family. They are always making my mom laugh and often play her favorite music for her. They are very conscientious & work very hard on making natural & healthy meals. They also do not like to overmedicate, which we very much appreciate. Wisteria Lodge hosted two separate parties for my mom’s 100th birthday so that members from our large extended family who couldn’t attend the first one, were still able to celebrate at the second one! They have also hosted summer barbecues with the residents’ family & friends! We adore Carolina & Mark. They are like family ❤️ My mom loves them both so much. She sometimes calls Carolina “sis,” which warms our hearts ❤️

We moved mom into Wisteria Lodge as she was needing more care than the Assisted Living facility could give her.
Wisteria Lodge staff are exceptional! They care for mom in a kind, compassionate way! The house is always very clean, the meals are homemade and they always welcome us when we come to visit mom!
Mom needs to be moved with a Hoyer Lift. They have a lift at the house and are very proficient and caring when they move her from her bed to her wheelchair and vice versa.
Mom loves looking out the window at the beautiful view of Mt. Rainier! They try to engage mom in different activities such as painting, puzzles and coloring. We haven’t seen mom this happy in many years and highly recommend Wisteria Lodge to anyone having a loved one that needs care!

Our mom has been a resident at Wisteria Lodge for a few years now.  Prior to selecting this adult family home, we toured several others. It was important to us to find a place where our mother would feel comfortable and, most importantly, would be well taken care of.  We were impressed with Wisteria Lodge right away.  It is a very nice home in a peaceful country setting.  Large windows let in plenty of natural light, and the open floor plan provides a warm family atmosphere. This allows the residents to feel a part of things, and the caregivers are right there to attend to any needs they may have. Along with the excellent care our mother receives, I appreciate the special touches. For example, when holidays and birthdays roll around, they create a festive atmosphere, inviting the families to celebrate with their loved ones. In nice weather, there's a sunny deck to sit on. And sometimes the ladies even get to enjoy a manicure, if they choose. We are happy we found Wisteria Lodge.
