Beyond pleased with The Oars! My mother has been in the memory care facility at The Oars and it's been great for her and us. The staff is friendly, patient, caring and communicative. It was a tough transition for my mom but the staff (especially Rei) made it way better than I expected. My sister and I toured A LOT of facilities and none of them stacked up to The Oars in terms of cleanliness and staff. It's definitely the best in Sacramento County.

My dear sister lived at The Oars for nine months before she passed away. She moved from a memory care in Chicago which was quite substandard. From my first meeting with Mai I felt such relief in knowing that she would be in good hands. The atmosphere is very homelike and the residents are treated with dignity and respect. Is the staff perfect? No. Do they own their mistakes and do their best to remedy the situation? Yes. I am so impressed with the genuine care and support they show to the people that call The Oars their home. They go above and beyond to make sure that both the resident and family member are comfortable with the care. Having live in dogs is a real plus. I am struck by their team work and never hearing "that is not my job". Everyone from the chef to the managers to the care staff are compassionate working with a challenging population. I would not hesitate to recommend this setting for anyone with memory care issues. I feel extremely grateful that my sister had such amazing care in her last nine months of life.

I haven't had anybody who lives here. However, we've had two tours of the facility and the staff has been really kind. We really enjoyed the amenities and how intimate of a community it is. I can't speak to the level of care since neither of my parents stays here, but we are highly considering moving my father into this memory care facility.

I attended The Oars Senior Living's 4th Anniversary today, and was impressed by their facility's layout and care that they provided for their residents. They had live music and good finger food for the guests there for this event. If the directors were as friendly and welcoming to their guests, then imagine how they interact with their residents. If you're thinking of a place for your parents who's alone and need a little (to a lot of) care , this place is worth looking at.

My father spent his last two months of his life here. It was a heartwrenching decision to decide to place him, but the easiest part was deciding on the Oars over other places. Every time I visited, the staff was incredibly kind, patient, understanding, helpful, and loving of my Dad and all of us who visited. If they were eating, they offered us food. Toward the end, my dad struggled with his emotions and became easily frustrated when we would visit. Each time the staff came over and interjected in the most respectful and caring way to calm him down. They knew his patterns and personality and how best to make him happy. I could not more highly recommend a place if you have a loved one in need of this type of care.
