THE WATERS OF EDINA

Everything about the facility and staff was wonderful. But the fact that visitors must STILL ring the doorbell to have a staff member (reduced on weekends I'm certain) to allow access in or out of the controlled access "pods" on the east side of the building is quite infuriating (wasting time of both the staff member as well as a visitor.)

I moved my Dad into the Waters in May of this year. He was reluctant to leave his house, but his body was breaking down and needed help. Upon moving in, he proceeded to meet people, develop great friendships and built a support community around him. The Waters of Edina fosters that community feeling with its residents. His body continued to deteriorate and the care staff did a great job caring for him and genuinely looking out for his best interests. He loved the residents, the food(which is outstanding) and the people who cared for him. I would highly recommend the Waters of Edina for your loved one. You won't be disappointed.

I visited my friend in memory care today. I was very upset to see her room in the condition that it was in. It was filthy and had obviously not been cleaned in a very long time. The floors and surfaces were very dirty including dead flowers, leaves and evergreen ( left from Christmas??) I asked for a broom and a very nice aide came in and swept up the obvious dirt and debris. She said she would come back with a wet mop. My friend was disheveled, and her hair and cloths were dirty. There was a pile of laundry ( I think clean?) on the sofa that I folded and set on the bed. The bed was a mess and had piles of clothes on it. In the kitchen there was a Christmas wreath and tree setting on the counter. I put them in the cupboard underneath. Although she has mostly artificial flowers on her windowsill I threw out several dead live ones. All in all, it was very difficult to see my friend so unkept and in such slovenly surroundings. I stopped at the front desk on my way out to share my concerns and asked to make an appointment for her to have a manicure. I was given a card with the number to call and did so when I got in my car. Only to be told that they only do hair at The Waters - not nails.

Staff was pleasant, courteous, and welcoming. Bonnie was happy and commented how helpful the staff was and how appreciative she was of living in such a nice place. Everything looked well maintained.

My mother has been a resident at The Waters of Edina since May. She loves it there. I truly appreciate all they do. The leadership, managers of each functional area and the care teams are amazing. They honestly care about each resident and maximizing their experience at their facility. They are genuine, caring individuals and we could not be grateful for all they do. My Mom started in independent living and needed to transition to Memory Care in September. They helped make the transition go smoothly and ensured it was a positive experience for my Mom. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
