Brookdale the colony provides outstanding dementia care. The staff are caring, compassionate, and always go above and beyond. The atmosphere is fun and uplifting, with activities that keep residents engaged and happy. Everything is run efficiently, and communication with families is excellent. We feel truly at peace knowing our loved one is safe and well cared for here. Special recognition goes to Marlene Shemtob who runs the office with such grace, compassion, and professionalism, making every step easy and worry-free for families. She is a bright light when we walk in setting to tone for our visit. And to Elsa Denis— her compassionate care for my mother has been extraordinary. She treats her with dignity, patience, and warmth, and it gives us such peace to know she is in such capable, loving hands. Thank you to everyone at Brookdale the Colony for the incredible work you do every day.

First impressions are important to me. When I visited Brookdale Colony the first time the entrance was a good sign that it was well thought out and in good taste. The tour confirmed my first impression when touring the community. You are welcomed inside to an open high ceiling park light setting area with a huge skylight that filters in sunlight where residents can relax or venture outside to the safely enclosed open air garden. The community has only approximately 45 residents so they can get the attention they deserve and need from a staff that obviously has a calling for this area of care.

I have experienced being there while visiting residents while they were doing activities and I must say the Activities Director is very engaging with the residents and you can tell she really loves what she does. They were having fun smiling and laughing and it is good to see an Assisted Living that is so engaged with their residents. You can tell they really enjoy the activities.
