The Terraces at Hollywood

Choosing an ALF for a parent is not a task to take lightly. Do your homework, take a tour, ask lots of questions. Fortunately, my research took me to Five Star Premier of Hollywood right out of the gate. The community is beautiful and well maintained. But more importantly, the staff are cheerful and helpful and the residents seem very happy. The Director of Sales, Darline, and her team guided us through the transition from sign-up all the way to move in day with great communication. The ALF Concierge, Sadie, coordinated our furniture deliveries. David, the Activities Director, planned a warm welcoming group for my mom the day she arrived. The aides and nurses are attentive and approachable. Many are proud to share how long they have worked here; a very good sign. I have peace of mind knowing my mom is safe. In the six weeks since she has been here, she has had much more social interaction, exercise and group activities than she had while living on her own. This is exactly what I had hoped for and am very grateful she is a part of this community.

Five star has certainly earned their name! Having visited endless amounts of assisted living facilities throughout Palm Beach, Dade and Broward county I can say that 5 Star offers the nicest apartments and facilities available anywhere else. The environment is one of positivity and caring people. I have worked extensively with Darline. I can't begin to express my gratitude for her never ending knowledge, guidance, compassion and patience! She is an incredible human being! 5 star and the residents are lucky to work with someone like her. More than professionally capable with a big heart. Truly a place where we can feel our parents are getting the care and attention they need.

My parents celebrated their 49th anniversary on April 15th 2021. They are residents at Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood. Darlene Osser, Maura Bernarding, Lisa Calvet, and Jill Aaron, organized a wonderful dinner table for my parents. The table was decorated with balloons, confetti, and a remarkable frame of my parents wedding photo! Who does that! Amazing! That moment had me tear up a bit. Thank you all for the incredible experience bestowed onto my parents. Thank for the staff that welcome them daily, especially Ellen. My parents communicate in American Sign Language. Five Star has created an amiable and comfortable environment for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing couple. Thank you.

My parents moved in a month ago, and we are very happy! We toured many facilities before choosing Five Star. Things we noticed about Five Star while touring is that the residents all looked very happy, and many even stopped to tell us how much they love it there. The staff is absolutely amazing. At some of the other places we toured I felt like my parents were just another number for them, but not at Five Star. Everyone there has shown me that they care about the residents, and they have all treated my parents with so much kindness. I couldn't imagine a better place! Thank you Five Star!

My father recently fell and was hospitalized. Then he was moved to skilled nursing. I won't name the facility - because it was a nightmare of confusion and poor communication and care. What I will say is that Five Star of Hollywood literally brought sanity back into our lives. They stepped in when we were getting no help. They were able to assess Dad and admit him to their Assisted Living. They moved mountains when the other facility said they were discharging him, but then came to a dead halt when we said we had a place for him to go. No returned phone calls. No answers. No paperwork sent on time. Absolute chaos. And Five Star managed to get through to them and get everything taken care of. He has turned a corner since the move to Five Star. Better outlook. Better care. Better attitude. Better PT. And we will soon be moving our Mom over to the memory care at Five Star of Hollywood. They will be on the same floor - just different spaces. But they will be able to be together often and both will be safely cared for by people who really know what they are doing! As we were touring the facility a resident walking by needed some assistance. Darline, who was showing us the areas, very discreetly excused herself and helped the resident return where they could get some assistance. No fuss. No drama. Respectfully, and graciously redirected. In our transition days, it was very stressful getting paperwork from the skilled nursing. Everyone from Five Star jumped in and got it done. Making huge decisions for ageing parents is not easy. But Five Star has been nothing but gracious and attentive in helping us navigate this part of the journey.
