La Posada Assisted Living

"Horrible and lacking. My mother required a forehead oxygen sensor to get proper readings - they are not equipped as they were at the hospital (the finger readings were false, and the forehead probe was accurate.) The hospital had her on 3L/m and reading was at a steady 92. After arriving at this facility, they had her at 15L/m, and could not use a forehead sensor because “they are a non-profit and do not have that tool”….!!!!!!! We kept telling them that was too high. I asked the nurse on the phone if too much oxygen could cause an “opposite effect” of Too little oxygen. The nurse explained that in a “normal” brain like “yours and mine” 15L/m of oxygen would ruin the oxygen processing portion of the brain. So I asked if they could please use a forehead probe because she was on 3L only a couple of hours ago. The nurse said they had extreme confidence in their readings of her blood oxygen. I explained again that we had been with my mom every day, for 12 hours a day at the hospital, and we witnessed and discussed with the real nurses why they were using the forehead sensor, it was because none of her fingers were giving accurate readings. They were way off… showing numbers from 56 to 0. Oh, and what is my mom’s brain???, NOT NORMAL?????! It’s disgusting to have ignorant replies like “we’re a nonprofit and we don’t have that tool” given in a facility that’s supposed to be caring. Within a couple of hours after arriving at the facility, my mom was not just incoherent, she couldn’t be woken up by those that went to be with her. She died. Highly questionable. "
