About
I am an RN with 15 years experience. I live in the home with my husband, Mike and our 3 labs. We enjoy golfing and camping on days off. I love making a difference in the lives of seniors that need assistance. I try to have two caregivers available during the day per our 5 residents, so everyone gets the attention they deserve, both socially and physically. We strive to have good food and activities available.
I worked in hospice care for many years prior to opening A Place to Call Home. I have been in many care homes, assisted livings, memory cares, and nursing homes through out the area. I wanted to be better than the majority of places I have been to. That means paying attention to details, looking for changes to mental and health status early, trying to meet the needs of the whole person. What do they like to do? What do they want to eat? What are their goals of care? I hated seeing people press their call buttons for help and not seeing anyone for 30 minutes. That doesn't happen here.
