SUNRISE AT STERLING CANYON

We moved our mother to Sunrise after Pacifica closed and all residents had to move out with short notice. We were lucky to get one of the last apartments available close to my sister because Tristan was so responsive, returning her call on Sun. evening and showing her the apartment the next morning. We had to take a 1 bedroom because no studios were available, so we put her name on the waiting list. When a studio became available both Tristan and Sean went above and beyond to accommodate our family. We are very thankful that our mother lives in such a nice place with great staff and receives such excellent care. Our mom's old apartment and new apartment both have a view of the gardens, which are lovely. We are always impressed by how warm and cheerful the staff members are.

It is always a difficult transition to have to move a family member to an assisted living home but Sunrise has made it a wonderful experience. The room is warm and welcoming while the staff has been and continues to be extremely supportive and caring. The care takers are extremely dedicated to their residents and try to make their stay has pleasurable as possible. Anita at the front desk is always in a great mood, cheerful and such a joy--making our visits there always pleasurable. Mayra, one of the care givers, has become a dear friend to my father, something anyone would hope for the loved ones. We spend a lot of time there so its nice to feel like they are an extended family. Activities are created and seem to have a large women's following. We've suggested some be created for men's interests. The work hard on being creative with the meals and are always open to working with your special wishes. -- Sunrise has been around for awhile and you can see its wear and tear which we hope will be changed sometime in the near future/ it needs a bit of a refresher. But for those seeking comfort, kindness and security--you won't be disappointed.

Sunrise assisted living is a wonderful community. That cares about the residence, and the quality of care. That you Tristian , Sean and the entire clinical team.

My mother has been a resident at Sunrise Sterling Canyon for 8 years and is thriving! She was reluctant, at first to go into an assisted living facility but the staff at Sterling Canyon helped her with the transition. They were then and continue today to be very supportive, caring and professional. The facility overall is very nice and clean. Food must be good as my mother likes it! Management is always available to answer any questions or concerns. My mother is now in Reminiscence/Memory Care and I really like that they take the residents out on field trips. I would highly recommend Sunrise Sterling Canyon.

They keep cutting costs to save money, even though they raised the prices in January. Stopped printing the weekly menu to save on paper, started using paper plates, sour looks from dining room staff members when asking something, waiting up to 45 minutes at a meal to just be asked what you want to order. I think the days of excellent care over aesthetics and decor are long gone. That was the reason we chose Sunrise to begin with. It just didn't live up to the past reviews. It's also why we didn't''t even look at Sunrise that is in the new state we are in now. I do want to point out that the front office staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Bill was our first contact at Sunrise and he helped us through the whole process of moving in. Bill has been doing this for a while and he is incredibly knowledgable with all matters relating to assisted living. The ladies that sit at the front desk are also super friendly and always have the biggest smiles for anyone that comes through the door and all the residents.
