It's been a week-and-a-half and things are going much better at Country Meadows than they were in another facility. Sue and Chastity were fantastic in helping with my parents' transition and in showing my wife and I how a professional facility can ease our burden and provide excellent care without us having to hover or hound them. CM is on top of Mom and Dad's care and has already been successful in using various methods to accomplish a task (like getting a resident to bathe). We're thrilled and expect that it's not just the honeymoon period--it's the way they operate.

I’m writing this afternoon to let you know how absolutely happy I am about my dad’s care & most particularly, his activity level. I am thrilled that he is participating in listening to music (there was a concert yesterday that he thoroughly enjoyed). He is actually looking forward to different events & I would need to credit Country Meadows in seeking him out to include him in these as he forgets on his own & is sometimes shy of asking or even shy of me asking for him. He just seems to be so much more engaged then he had been & if he is more satisfied, that naturally makes me happy & have peace. It sometimes is hard to not get him focusing on things he can no longer do (like driving, owning a dog) & encourage him to enjoy other things he can participate in. I believe the activities Country Meadows is offering has helped. So, without going on……& I know there are many people who help make this happen, from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

I was POA for a resident of the memory care unit (Connections) in the Wyomissing location for 4 and 1/2 years. Most all senior care facilities post views of attractive buildings and appealing landscaping, but Country Meadows has the "secret sauce" - THEIR STAFF. All of the personnel from management, nurses and aides, dining service, activity creation and involvement, spiritual support and even maintenance are the most professional, most caring and most cordial you will ever find. They not only provided excellent care in every way, but became friends with the resident and treated her like she was family. Even after her sad passing, many of the staff offered condolences in a most personal and caring way. They obviously were grieving her loss just like a member of their own family. Her mostly out of area family never regretted the choice of Country Meadows as her caregiver. Many times they expressed their confidence and appreciation to me for all of the staff they interacted with when visiting Country Meadows. And, I personally consider many of you as caring friends who gave me so much support and encouragement for a long time. Thank you CM and all of your staff - you are a blessing. Jim Flannery

My mother, now 97 and her twin have lived at Country Meadows for many years now. They started in Independent Living and have moved as they aged and had more physical needs into Personal Care. I have found that the staff at Country Meadows has always been very caring and helpful. Taking care of aging family is such a big concern and I feel very comfortable that Mom is getting the attention and care she needs. I was very happy with how CM navigated through Covid-19 where so many homes and senior living centers did not do well. Now, as my Mom needs more attention to her medications, memory and personal care the staff has been up to the challenge of her changes and demands. I am very happy that we made the decision to use Country Meadows.

Country Meadows of Wyomissing was the best experience I could have asked for, let me explain. Late March of 2012, my journey of taking care of my grandparents began, my grandparents had reached a part of their life that they no longer could live at home. My grandmother was in need of care that my grandfather could no longer provide on his own, she was in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s and he was dealing with Parkinson’s. Not really knowing what I was doing, I had heard from friends & neighbors that Country Meadows of Wyomissing was a great retirement community. So, I checked it out and it seemed to meet our needs with different units for different levels of care, while still giving my grandparents the ability to be together. So, we met with a welcoming team at Country Meadows of Wyomissing and they were wonderful, explained everything thoroughly so we would all understand. Two weeks later my grandparents moved in, my grandmother was placed in the Connections Unit (Memory Care), while my grandfather was place right upstairs where he had the ability to come see and spend time with my grandmother day and night. They were able to have meals together and spend the day watching tv or interacting in planned events. Unfortunately, my grandmother’s stay didn’t last long, her Alzheimer’s took a turn for the worst and she needed more intense care. This is where our journey with Country Meadows of Wyomissing began to just feel like family. The employees and staff had won me over. They knew that I was about 27 year old and living 60 miles away and taking care of a lot, and they step right in to help. One of our challenges was finding a way to have my grandparents still see each other. But that wasn’t a problem for Country Meadows, they told me about a car service which would take him every day or every other day to Berks Heim where my grandmother resided. This was huge, this made my grandfather very happy which made me very happy. They welcomed our family with open arms, let us have meals with grandfather, interact in activities and they would even call me with updates. Unfortunately, my grandfather’s Parkinson’s worsened within a year or so, but again Country Meadows step right on up and we just changed his room down to the Connections Unit where he continued to be safe and happy. They even kept taking him to see my grandmother just a little less frequent, due to his condition. It was so nice to have everyone on board and helping me take care of everything from a far. My grandfather was a resident for 3 – 4 years, I don’t think we could have done it without the help from the Country Meadows of Wyomissing team. They showed my family how important our loved ones were and took care of them for us when we couldn’t. They treat residents and their families with respect and genuine care. Thank you to all staff members that helped take such good care of Bernie Roth Sr, he is in heaven now, but I know you all made the years he spent at Country Meadows of Wyomissing the best! I truly appreciate everything that was done for me and my family!
