Vna of Maryland
Vna of Maryland is a Medicare-certified home health agency serving Baltimore, Maryland and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified home health agency provides skilled nursing services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, medical social services, and home health aide services to patients in their homes.
Medicare covers home health services for patients who are homebound and require skilled nursing care or therapy services on an intermittent basis. A physician must certify that the patient needs home health care and establish a plan of care.
Home health agencies are certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and must meet federal Conditions of Participation. These requirements ensure that agencies provide quality care, maintain proper documentation, and protect patient rights.
Medicare beneficiaries pay no cost for covered home health services when provided by a Medicare-certified agency. For more information about home health benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare home health agency ratings at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality ratings and agency data are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

Listen to all of the one star reviews. My mom asked the rehab facility to organize the home health for her. A nurse never called to schedule a time. Apparently had an “emergency.” Then the nurse couldn’t get through to us.. then the scheduler made a time at 9:xx am for 10-noon. 12:15 I called scheduling to get an update. She couldn’t get ahold of nurse. Called back at 12:45 and said the nurse had an “emergency,” but could come at 2:45. Total waste of time.
Do Not under any circumstances use this company for your loved ones. If you have any issues expect to wait at least two days for a nurse to be sent to you. Lord help you if it is a weekend or Friday. Maria that works in the office is horrible and treats patients and their families like dirt. She is the most unhelpful person in the world and has the compassion of a turnip. She needs to lose her nursing license and not be able to treat sick people at all. This company on multiple occasions has left my sister laying in a pool of her own urine for days because they could not be bothered to come and help replace a leaking catheter. They should be ashamed of themselves and the treatment of their patients. When they do dispatch a nurse expect them to show up hours late without so much as a phone call or an apology. Several times we have taken off of work to meet the nurse and they have just never showed up taking money out of our pocket. Please, please, please do not put your family members through this care.
My husband received fabulous care from Nurse Orestes Estrella and Physical Therapist Greg Dorado from VNA's "Orange Team"! They definitely deserve tremendous credit for his rapid recovery. Orestes and Greg were professional, knowledgeable, prompt, courteous, and kind-hearted. All the questions and concerns we had for Tom's health were addressed promptly, the advice they gave us was valuable, and the kindness they always showed Tom was heartwarming. They are perfect and beyond praise!
This Company is Horrible! I’ve had an encounter with two people throughout the entire staff that shows pt care , But clearly Homecare is NOT what they do. I was a wound Vac Pt . Started out with a Nure calling getting smart over the phone and hung up. Then there is NO consistency at all ; Diffre nurse every time . I called the emergency phone on a Saturday night ; it’s Wendsday and I have yet to get a call from a nurse or a visit . Yet today they have questions about my care ; Term me all the way out because yall can care less about the care of the patient. I don’t do this but my health is very important to me ; so when you call yourself a reputable company; yet play with pts. Health it’s awful . I’ve explained to supervisors and all my concerns and it’s just don’t matter at all. Its very disheartening to see the level of care you get when you already trying to heal and trust that this company will assist .
I met with my 87 year old dad's primary care physician on a Monday after my dad had had a couple of falls. Nothing was broken, but he was sore, bruised and in need of PT and OT. The doctor had his assistant call in orders to VNA to initiate PT and OT services immediately. By Thursday, when I had not received any phone calls regarding scheduling these services, I called VNA. They claimed they had no record of his name or date of birth in their computer. I then called his doctor's office and they said they had spent time on the phone with VNA that past Monday giving them all the information regarding my dad and assumed VNA would follow-up with a call to me. Well, they not only did not contact me but the person the doctor's assistant spoke to (unfortunately she did not get her name) must have been in outer space because there was no record of this call to initiate services for my dad. I was quite dismayed as my dad had lost 4 days of potential PT and OT services. I WOULD NOT recommend this company to anyone! Perhaps they should re-evaluate their operations and employee's work related responsibilities!!!
