Elara Caring

Elara is a great company! They treated my Aunt well even though they are based in Toledo and my aunt was located an hour from the main office. They collaborated with the facility staff and would come on different days so that someone was there often. They updated our family too. My aunt started with a different hospice and it was not great. When she started with Elara, it was a welcomed change from what she had before. I wasn’t the decision maker, but I could see for myself the difference it made and she was only with them a few weeks. I have already recommended Elara Hospice to others. I’m thankful for them.

I can't say enough about what a wonderful care my mother rece8ved through Elara Caring Hospice. Our nurses and aides were phenomenal, particularly Brandi and Brittany. They helped to make our worst days and weeks so peaceful and comfortable. They provided wonderful medical care as well as emotional support. From the moment I met Kim, the care coordinator who met with us to set up hospice care, I knew we found the right company. She was so incredibly warm and kind. She was completely transparent about the care Elara provides and how it compares to other programs. She never made me feel like I was being pitched a sale and encouraged me to explore all the options out there. I did, and nothing compared to Elara. My meetings with other pallative care provider companies felt cold and clinical. That was the last thing we wanted during such a heartbreaking time of having to let go of our mom. Kim stayed in contact throughout our journey. Checking in to make sure we were ok and had everything we needed.... Both my mom and me. I am forever grateful to her and the team she assigned us. My mom never experienced a day of anxiety or discomfort. Her pain was proactively managed and she looked forward to every visit from her care team. From beginning to end of our journey, the experience was better than I could have hoped for. I would recommend Elara to anyone looking for superior care and support.

We had Elara for my parents and they were ALL so professional and timely. Kim was amazing help and such wonderful support. When you are the main caregiver as I was for both of my parents at the same time, she helped guide me so beautifully to help me through a tough time in my life. What a blessing to care for my parents and what a blessing we had Elara to give them and me such great support, comfort and compassion. I would highly recommend this company. I have recommended them to multiple families and they have been satisfied too. Keep up the great work Elara team!!! You are giving many blessings to so many people.

All around bad experience. Terrible professionalism. We did not choose this company but our case manager up in Ann Arbor set this up for us. Would never recommend. For example (and this is just one), we were told they’d be at the house at 230. By around 315, we hadn’t heard or seen a nurse. We called, and there was no answer. We called again at 430, knowing that after 5 it is the after hours nurse and things get chaotic with scheduling. We were told that our nurse was no longer coming. She thought the office would have called but they didn’t. We waited around for hours for a simple dressing change. Another example is when my partner needed a dressing change for a mid-line cath. The nurse wore a mask but told my partner he didn’t need one. Very dangerous as the cath was on his chest right under where his breath would go while breathing. Do not expect them to go above and beyond for you or your loved ones. Do not expect them to be on time. Do expect courtesy.

Our family has had the extreme pleasure and privilege to have Elara Caring Services by our side for multiple family members over the last 8 years. During the progression of each phase they were there. Having the kindness and understanding from the beginning with the explanations and the paperwork to the knowledge of each loved one’s medical and emotional needs to the compassion in the final chapter with them in our lives, we couldn’t have imagined a better fit. For other reasons and purposes for loved ones they were able to be that extraordinary care to give them the medical attention and comfort support needed that actually brought them back to a healthier place in their life. Because of the extra services Elara Caring provides we have been able to spread the word and others have been able to experience their care. With Elara in our lives we were allowed to be more present in the lives of our loved ones. Our family was completely blessed when Elara stepped into our family. Forever grateful, Tom and Laurie Weaver
