Happy at Home is the most caring company I've had the opportunity to work with. Having worked with several care providing companies in western Pennsylvania who have provided care for my mother-in-law, my mom and my dad, I can tell you that there is not another company who cares more about their clients than Happy at Home. They have the biggest hearts and truly care about their clients. They have been loving, compassionate and extremely flexible. Providing caregivers that actually "CARE" and show up is a rarity in this industry and, as I said, I've worked with several other well know companies. This is an extremely tough business, you would do well to choose Happy at Home to provide care for your loved one.

We are very happy with the caregiver who provides companionship, light housework and personal care to my 95 year old mother-in-law with dementia. Working with dementia clients is very difficult, and Debbie does a wonderful job with my mother-in-law. The care coordinator, Rhonda, is always available to me, and addresses any concern I have. I am very happy with the services provided by Happy at Home.

My father is elderly and a World War 2 veteran. He still lives at home and is a very kind man. We have struggled to find a dependable and considerate caregiver to provide companionship, meal preparation and perform light housekeeping for my dad. We tried several caregiving agencies and found the people they sent were often unmotivated, undependable and unprofessional. That all changed with Happy At Home! Rhonda and her team placed Antoinette as the caregiver for my dad and we could not be more pleased! Antoinette is caring, she completes all tasks without hesitation and she really cares about my dad. Our family thanks Happy at Home and highly recommends them.

THANK YOU, JOHN for calling me personally about this situation. I truly appreciate your professionalism and concern in reaching out to discuss all of the workings of my dad's particular case. This demonstrated to me that you were truly interested in clearing up what occurred. I, too, am sorry that there was a communication breakdown between all parties involved. I was hoping for it to work out for all of us and will keep Happy in Home in mind for the future needs of my dad. ~ Alison Wojcik ***************************************************************** I am being generous by giving one star....After meeting wtih a representative on a Saturday, I was assured a follow up phone call on Monday afternoon, “at the latest.” The person in mind as the care provider for my dad was about “15 miles” away in the North Hills. I was skeptical about someone’s willingness to travel M-F from this area (I think it was closer to 25 miles) to the South Hills and voiced my concerns on the representatives voicemail. I also provided a name of an individual who worked there and had indicated to one of my family members that she would be willing to take on my dad’s case. Still no phone call and it’s probabky Wednesday. Dept of Aging received notification that someone was starting with my dad on Thursday (5 days after our initial visit). Thursday? That’s great! I needed confirmation..... so, I had tried to leave a voicemail for Rep#1 (mailbox full) and tried calling another and was told (by Rep#1 who answered the phone of Rep#2) that they were in a meeting and someone would call me back. Uh oh..... I was still not notified of who would be starting and when. Called original rep #1 again and no response to call or to my voicemail (mailbox still full a day later). Called main office number and was asked my name and the details of my call. I was asked to be placed on hold while the rep went to find Rep#1 and Rep#2. They were busy in another meeting and couldn’t come to the phone. Convenient and/or coincidence? Dept of Aging calls me back. It’s now Friday, the day AFTER the care provider was to start....she tells me that the care provider said she could only work 2 days a week and that she couldn’t start on Monday because of a prior appointment?!?! Care provider indicated to my family member that she never told the agency she couldn’t take the job and said she never talked to them....she was under the assumption that she was starting on Monday (10 days after initial meeting). Two days was never an option for us and from the getgo it was a five day a week job, no weekends and no evenings. First she’s in, then she’s out in a matter of hours?? Not sure who dropped the ball, but it sure wasn’t Tom Brady. Oh, it could have been; but we will never know because I NEVER even had a call back yet- in 14 days! “Waiting at Home by the Phone” is a name more aptly fitting than, Happy at Home. Thanks, but no thanks for all of the great customer service that you all provided. Your company should not be recommended for services from anyone - including Allegheny County. Obtaining care at home for a loved one is challenging enough without having the inconsistencies and insufficiencies of an incompetent agency trying to handle the planning It is unfortunate that H at H lost out because caring for my dad is the easiest 6 hour job anyone could ever have! Score card: D- I won’t take away points for Rep#1 rescheduling the initial appointment due to a major appliance breaking down.

I would not even give 1 star. The owner of this company as well as her coordinator will talk a good talk, and than provide zero customer service for a client base that is in need. They lied about the type of care that would be provided, and by whom. A formal complaint is being filed. I suspect they have had numerous ethic violations. I can tell you that after this experience there was no one "happy". *In response to the owners comment. If anyone reads this and would like more details on our experience please feel free to reach out to me, and I will give a full account of the ordeal, and believe me it was an ordeal. Lastly, this company was told that we would not be using their services after they made it clear that they do not have the staff for the needs of my Aunt....meal prep (not microwaveable), errand running, accompanying doctor appointments, and light house work. God Bless anyone who gives this company a try. Ps..if you want immediate attention from them...simply leave a negative google review , and the owner will call you promptly, and proceed to harass you.
