A aide was supposed to arrive at 6:00 am this morning to care for my nephew who just got released from the hospital yesterday and needless to say that they didn’t show up or call to inform us that they would not be coming. This prevented my 90 year old mother from going to dialysis. This is not only unprofessional and unacceptable to put 2 people’s health In danger because of unreliability and lack of communication.

The Veterans Administration provided us a home health aid for my wife through A1 Omega. She has a lot of medical issues, and I just couldn’t do everything anymore. My wife has mental and physical issues, and over time has worsened. She is continually in pain, and hopeless of ever getting better. Everyone with whom we interacted was professional and timely. Tina and I spent a lot of time discussing my wife’s needs, and what respite I needed. Tina then sent a social worker to assess my spouse and our home and medical set-up. The social worker was empathetic and very helpful. I’ve been so exhausted for so long, I had to have her repeat certain things. She was very patient about doing so, and very comforting during the moments I just collapsed in tears. Soon after, we were assigned a home health aid, Susan. There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how amazing she is. Truly. On one of Susan’s first visits, I heard my wife laugh for the first time in years. Literally, years. I don't know how, but Susan connected to a part of her I had thought was long dead. Susan’s empathy, kindness, and professional knowledge have allowed me to feel a relief I didn't remember existed. When Susan is here, I know my wife is safe and in caring hands. That allows me to take a nap, go visit a friend, or just be able to turn off mentally. She has also shared the benefit of her years of experience by suggesting changing some of the methods and procedures I use for my wife’s care. In addition, Susan listens and understands my fatigue. She is such a comfort to both of us.

A1-Omega was asked if they could accommodate my needs before I signed up with them. I was then told I could only get 5 days not 7 . I was working with case managers to resolve the issue was scheduled to have an aide she never arrived. I called the office an was told I would have wait 4 more days. 3 strikes. I did not feel comfortable continuing and fired them.
