If anyone is needing hospice type care in Big Bear this facility is amazing. Achlee and Karissa are amazing and we love them to pieces. They care so much about patients and family and always make sure to give the exact care that's needed. Dr. Steward is awesome and super sweet! They go above and beyond for people here and we cannot thank them enough for being there for my mother in law and for us. Chris and Zack are super awesome, they helped build necessary things needed for the house and also helped take them apart when we were ready after my mother in laws passing. Everyone always asked if everything was okay and never overstepped any kind of boundaries and always made sure things were taken care of as we went through the whole process. Everyone here has respect and love and we cannot thank them enough. 🖤

I live several hours away from my dad who lives in Big Bear. He received care from Bear Valley Hospice for several months while he was recovering from pneumonia and other ailments. My dad didn’t want to go to the hospital and the staff at Bear Valley Hospice were wonderful. I met Karissa in person during a visit and she was so kind and nurturing. She began updating me regularly on my dad’s condition and was so thorough and thoughtful. She would text and call me and was never anything but patient, kind, thoughtful and nurturing. When there was a death in the family, Karissa and other staff members started a meal train for my dad and his wife and supported them in ways beyond just medical care for my dad. Thankfully my dad recovered from the pneumonia and was released from hospice care so he can begin seeking additional treatment from his regular doctors. I definitely feel peace knowing that if my dad needs hospice care at any point in the future, that there is such a wonderful resource for him.

Our family was fortunate to find Bear Valley Hospice at a time when we were desperately needing help. From the first phone call their amazing staff were there for us and our loved one. The transport drivers gave our family member the time he requested to rest outside for a bit when he arrived. Our nurse Achlee was available to answer our questions, provide care, and in almost constant contact with Dr Steward. Then there was Kathy, Rena, Rosie, Lee, Layla, Linda and Lex all supporting and caring for our family member in their capacity with the company while allowing us the opportunity to spend time with our loved one. Thank you all!

From the Carlisle family to Bear Valley Hospice we want to sincerely thank you for helping us through the most difficult time in caring for my father in-law. Between Dr. Stewart and his nurse Karissa keeping my father in-law as comfortable as possible during this time was the biggest blessing. We would not have been able make it without the support, guidance, and compassion you gave our family. The first day calling, talking to nurse Kristin immediately getting all the information I needed and seeing what all Bear Valley Hospice offers I was already impressed. The very next day nurse Karissa came to the house and assessed my father in-law and thoroughly answered all our questions that we had which immediately put us and my most important my father in-law at ease. Karissa then proceeded to contact Dr. Stewart and was able to put a plan together to ease my father in-law pain and medical issues as much as possible. That same day they both cared for my father in-law with compassion, understanding and with patience. On top of their unbelievable knowledge when taking care of my father in-law, they were also constantly explaining in details what they were going to be doing and never had us questioning what was going on in the days of 24hour care. Thank you again Bear Valley Hospice Team for all your dedication and support you had towards my family we would not have been able to do it without you.

Everyone we have had contact within this agency is fantastic! They are very dedicated, caring, loving, and communicative individuals. I was totally impressed from the first day I called the agency to inquire about services for my mother-in-law. Christine answered the phone on the first ring and spent over 45 minutes explaining the workings of hospice and palliative care services! We have wonderful communication with mom's nurses, Achlee, initially and currently Karissa. They are both very supportive, knowledgeable, and interact well with our mom. They convene quickly with Dr. Stewart when there is a medical need and the team comes up with and implements a medical plan of action of adjusting medications and oxygen needs. Karissa keeps us well informed on any changes with our mom as she is having more cognitive decline. Karissa instructs mom's caregivers to assure she is safe within her home. We do not live near our mom, so this has been very important! Rosie has provided great help and support along with organizing volunteers to come and socialize with mom. She and Linda, the nursing assistant, both speak Spanish and this has helped immensely as mom's in-home caregivers primarily speak Spanish. All in all, we have had superb service and care from Bear Valley Hospice! We very highly recommend them to provide services to your loved ones in need of hospice or palliative care services!
