I am writing this review because my husband and I have two experiences when dealing with hospice care for my grandma. The first experience was not good. This second time around, Rebecca from Abrazo PV hospital referred us to Hospice of the West, and we have been blown away by their exceptional care. The nurse we had was Nicole. Words really can't describe just how good of a job she has done. To say that she was amazing would be an understatement, but she really was just that amazing. When going through the process of losing someone you love, you'll find that there are many difficulties and uncertainties, but the way Nicole handled every visit, the way she cared for grandma, the empathy she showed, the way she explained everything so clearly, how she never left until all our questions were answered, her constant professionalism, all made this very difficult process so much less stressful. We could not have asked for a better nurse to help take care of our grandma, and we are very grateful for all the help she provided. Thank you so much, Nicole! If you get Nicole as the nurse for your loved one, just know that you will be in very good hands. The entire team from Hospice of the West that we interacted with, Nicole, Christina, Paul, Courtney, Jennifer, Steven, Joanna, Michelle and many more who's names I can't remember (sorry), all of them made this sad time in our lives more bearable, and we appreciate all the help this service gave us.

We were blessed to have been referred to Hospice of the West for my mother's care. Rick and Steve provided excepcional and compassionate services. They always took the time to educate us and provide comfort during those difficult moments. Staff are very knowledgeable and caring. They were always available and checking in to make sure my mother had everything she needed. Rick would always sit down with us after the visit with our mom to explain the process and provide support.

Hospice of the West provided exceptional care during an incredibly difficult time. Their team was not only knowledgeable and responsive, but also deeply compassionate. Every person we encountered treated my loved one—and our entire family—with dignity, patience, and grace. They were quick to answer questions, kept us informed without overwhelming us, and ensured comfort was always the top priority. What stood out most was the way they approached care with true empathy. We never felt like just another case—they took time to understand our needs, our values, and our grief. I will forever be grateful for the support they provided. Hospice of the West is a remarkable organization that brings light and peace to dark moments.

If I could choose zero stars, I would. Hospice Of West failed to be there for us when my father was actively dying. My father had a fever of 104 Degress And Hospice was called to come and see my father at the facility where he was living. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. THEIR EXCUSE WAS THAT THEY COULD NOT GET A HOLD OF ANYONE AND KEPT GETTING THE ANSWERING SERVICE AT THE FACILITY.. Hospice then decided they were just not going to make the visit. Who does that?! Once the hospice nurse showed up in the morning she evaluated my father and showed no empathy or compassion. My father was in respiratory distress, and the nurse didn’t bother applying his oxygen. It then took nine hours to get the medications delivered to the facility. Hospice Nurse visited at midnight on same day. The nurse educated the staff on how to administer the medication and how much was to be given. I asked for clarification on how many droppers were to be administered under the tongue. The nurse’s response was “ let’s see, .25cc x 4 is?” of course 1cc I responded. How dare the nurse ask me to do math at the bedside while my father was actively dying. Shame on the nurse. I could go on about what happened that night.. I feel that I have clearly made my point..The reason for this post is that I would hate for any family to have to go through what I went through while a their loved one is actively dying.. Please think twice and do right by your Loved One before choosing the right Hospice agency…

Hospice of the West has been great to work with. Their team is professional, compassionate, and always responsive. The liaison Marisa I work with is especially helpful and communicative, making the referral process smooth for both myself and the families I support. I truly appreciate their dedication and care.
