THE WORST FACILITY YOU COULD ATTEND. Not only did I have a severe HIPA violation, but I witnessed extreme mistreatment of patients, zero regulations of medication, safety issues left unchecked and then randomly enforced, patients with varying degrees of issues and lengths of stays all being housed together, and was told by staff point blank that it wasn’t a place to help people. Just calm them down. They had absolutely nothing for the patients to do and it contributed to the hostility that built day by day. Do not admit yourself or check your loved ones in here. I was actually only there because my therapist said if I was admitted, I could have my medication changed faster than going through a psychiatrist. She had once been there years prior, and instantly apologized profusely after telling her all I had experienced. She cried actually. I had to offer to help bathe a patient who was continuously asking for help, for anyone to do anything. They tried to keep me longer, but luckily I’m one of the ones that could advocate for myself. Even the morning I was scheduled to leave, they kept me hourssssss longer (despite the fact that I had my own vehicle parked outside), after witnessing some seriously disturbing things they locked us in the courtyard for. In conclusion, there are good people that work there. But I only experienced about 5, and they’re trying their best against a system that isn’t designed to do more than collect insurance money.

I had a very positive experience at Summit Oaks Hospital. The staff was compassionate, professional, and truly cared about my well-being. From the nurses to the therapists and doctors, everyone took the time to listen and provide the support I needed. The environment was clean, calm, and focused on recovery. I also appreciated the group sessions—they were well-structured and gave me tools I can use every day. Thank you to the entire team for helping me take important steps toward healing. Highly recommend Summit Oaks to anyone seeking genuine care and support. Special thanks to Mr. Rosenberg, Ms Jay, Q , Claire, Dr tossin, Ingrid, carlene, rockell and Sabina

I recently had the pleasure of interfacing with Ashley, a case manager at Summit Oaks Hospital and her counterpart Claire. From time to time as a psychotherapist, my clients need in-patient/crisis care, and I have to collaborate with staff at local facilities. In my experience it is extremely rare to find such a caring, competent social worker as Ashley in these cases. She was a compassionate and determined advocate for the patient and showed great diligence in keeping me updated and "in the loop." Ashley and Claire make a strong team, and I could rest easy knowing our mutual patient was in good hands and was not going to "fall through the cracks." Sadly, this is often not the case and in writing this review, I feel that Ashley and Claire at Summit Oaks deserve both my gratitude as well as recognition for their excellence!

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. I was admitted to this hospital in January of 2024 at the age of 11 to the TU-4 unit (5-17). And oh my GOD, I wish I was admitted some place different. First of all, I was left in the ambulance for an hour. Only for someone to come in, take my picture, then leave until another 30 minutes later. I was brought in and token off the stretcher. My wrist band was replaced and I was told to sit in the waiting area (which is literally 3-4 chairs lined up against the wall) and I sat for another hour. I was then asked the normal questions (who’s the president, what year it is, why I’m here, ect.) and while that, there was a girl sleeping in the tv area while the staff didn’t care and shrugged her off. Not to mention also during check in, I was groped by staff. The rest of the seven days was hell. I woke up the next morning to construction in my bathroom. I wasn’t given any of my hair care, oral care, or body care until the end of the night and they also never gave me breakfast (even when I ordered.) The place was also very unclean and they had the patients cleaning floors past shut eye (even if they didn’t volunteer to) the staff was awfully rude and these are the ones I remember being absolutely disrespectful to me: Nicole, and gary. Also to mention, a staff member hit one of the patients twice. The only “fun thing” they had there was a guy come in once a week with music, and movie nights. Also, they have a “room time” where basically they would keep patients in their rooms until dinner and we would be yelled at severely if we came out, even for water or more TP. The staff also blow off their jobs and refuse to give meds. And I would just like to thank these staff members/nurses and also patients who weren’t disrespectful and actually were amazing. STAFF/NURSES: Ms Ariel, Ms Piece/Peace, Ms Callie, Ms Pam, Ms Vanessa, and Ms Maddie. PATIENTS: CJ (Caden), Sal, Trinity, Mary ‘Jane’ (Mary), Anna, Even ‘Stephen’ (Even), Rachel, Astrid, Lilly, Sandra (Sandy), Miles, Hallie, Isabelle, Ryan, and Jayden. Thank you to these people who helped me from the last week of January 2024-the first weeks of February 2024.

i was here when i was 16 in the adolescent unit in 2024 due to an incident . i met some great people there and appreciate them since there was only maybe a handful of nurses that were understanding and empathetic of how you were feeling or why you were there. my second problem with what made my stay so uncomfortable was when someone would get admitted you were asked to share why you were there with the unit you were with in morning group or night group. i felt bad for when someone got admitted because genuinely some people just like to keep those things to themselves and let it be known to whoever was treating them. but also treatment? yeah no they literally would put on a dvd for us to watch like a wayyyyy outdated dvd it looked like from late 2000s and would expect us to take something from that and be better i guess was the thought behind that. while the nurses would just talk with other people working on the unit and laughing and yell at us if we weren't being quiet during it. and third of all cherry on top of it all was when one of the nurses told us why we couldn’t have two blankets and proceeded to tell us a kid had done something with two blankets in the unit… dont know what happened and never want to know i dont think just told us what he did. oh and also how can i forget told us that you know we couldnt exchange phone numbers after being discharged because of an incident that happened with two patients after switching contacts and discharging im not going to say what they told us but it was disturbing to be telling to teenagers in a mental facility . im not gonna get into details about anything else they said but freaked me out big time none the less and had a problem going to sleep for the rest of my stay glad though i had the roommate i had. we would talk a lot at night before going to sleep and definitely would distract me from the thought of what the nurse told us. i also had to wait like a WHOLE DAY after i got admitted there to get my actual clothes. must i add i also had a uti i had been told about when i was in er crisis center before being sent and had to sit and try to sleep with scrubs on. at that point i just wanted to wear actual clothes made of fabric and not paper scrubs. my parents had literally brought up clothes when i first got there and left it for the nurses to go through after i finally got in the unit. they gave me a lame excuse for why they couldn’t look through my bag give me what i could have and you know just put clothes that i couldn’t have in there somewhere else let me have the ones i could have and just let me wear actual clothes, but i guess thats to much work. but if your a parent and you want to get your kid help please do your research on these places before sending them look at patient reviews see if it’s effective for others because this place is far from it. definitely made me feel a lot worse coming out of this place instead of better. im 18 now and im doing great ive definitely gotten better treatment when needed after this from other places. but you know what it needs to be said that this place definitely is unorganized and unprofessional up and down this place should just be closed down at this point. 1 star is being nice at this point.
