Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description

As a team member with Lakeview Terrace, you will provide services to our residents that call LVT home. Facility Name and Address: Lakeview Terrace Retirement Community 331 Raintree Drive Altoona, FL 32702 Purpose: Maintain order and neatness in resident care areas, interact verbally and non-verbally in a courteous and positive manner during all working hours; and answer residents’ call lights promptly. Assist nurse with admitting, discharging or transferring residents and report changes in resident conditions to charge nurse immediately with report to oncoming shift and appropriate documentation for assigned unit. Bathe or assist with baths, providing total personal hygiene and all phases of activities of daily living, as needed and assist Activities Department by ensuring residents attend activities as appropriate. Feed infirm or ill residents, assist other residents with their meals and provide between meal nourishment when it is indicated; perform serving and other general Dining Room duties to ensure residents receive prompt and courteous service. Demonstrate knowledge of proper body mechanics; and utilize proper collecting and handling techniques of laboratory specimens. Secure and store properly all toxic/hazardous substances utilized in the work area. Be aware of and utilize proper procedure in disposal of all such substances. Attend all required in-services and trainings. Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations. Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor. Required Qualification: Successful completion of State of Florida Certification exam. CPR certified. For purposes of effective communication with residents, families and staff must be able to see, hear, speak, read and write English Maintain ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, lift unassisted at least 50 lbs and walk or stand up to eight hours.
