Sacred Heart Home, part of the Brothers of Mercy Continuum of Care, is an Adult Home providing assistive living services to seniors. Our Personal Care Aides (PCA) are responsible for assisting residents in daily activities, as well as providing support with safety and comfort. Personal Care Aide (PCA) duties include: Work within HIPAA, Corporate Compliance and Resident's Rights policies Report on duty in the health care office to the staff member in charge Receive daily report by reading the 24-hour report Check for any specimens that are needed and report Sign out/carry a pass key and return it to the office at the end of the shift Answer all call lights promptly Make rounds on assigned unit (per time schedule) and check the status of all Residents at the beginning and end of the shift Assist and encourage all residents with their personal care as needed. Included is dressing, grooming (oral care, hair care, nail care, shaving), toileting, bathing and walking. Report changes noticed to staff member in charge as soon as possible Obtain and record resident's weight as scheduled. Immediately report any weight gain or loss of 5 lbs or more to the staff member in charge, unless orders direct otherwise Assist with resident's personal laundry per laundry list by following standard procedures in use of laundry equipment With resident's consent, assist in keeping room, dresser drawers and closet in a clean and orderly manner Assist with bed making on a daily basis or as needed Brothers of Mercy is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
