Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor

There are part-time and per-diem opportunities available with starting wages up to $42.50 per hour, plus the more shifts worked, the greater the pay. The primary purpose of the RN Supervisor position is to be responsible for the supervision of all nursing activities of the residents of Moravian Hall Square health care center, to ensure the highest quality of nursing care. Make resident rounds on the assigned units to assess the physical and emotional status of residents and initiate any required nursing interventions. Review and revise plans of care for problems, goals, and approaches, to assure that care is given on a continuing basis. Note and implement physician orders, and supervise to assure that orders are carried out. Assign responsibility for direct resident care to the LPN's and the nurse aides on the basis of staff qualification, size, and physical layout of the nursing unit, characteristics of the resident load, and the emotional, social, physical, psychological, religious, nutritional, and nursing care needs of the resident. Review MAR's (Medication and Treatment) and physician orders on a monthly basis to assure the accuracy Supervise and evaluate performances of all nursing personnel on the unit, and assure that all standards of Moravian Hall Square health care center are enforced for the health, welfare, and safety of the residents. Participate in employee disciplinary procedures. Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed by the physicians Foster a culture of safety, ensuring team members are following safe practices. Responsible for completing thorough investigations, completing reports accurately ad timely, and following up as appropriate. Assess emergencies, administering emergency treatment, and assisting physicians as required. What do I need in the role of RN Supervisor? Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing. Current licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners. Minimum of two (2) years experience, five (5) years preferred, in nursing supervision. Experience preferred in Gerontology Nursing. Ability to work as a member of the management team. Must be willing to remain on campus for the duration of the shift to serve as both emergency responder and pronouncer of any death during shift. Must have caring, compassionate, and honest qualities. Must have the visual acuity needed to observe adverse signs and symptoms in residents being cared for. Basic computer knowledge preferred. Must maintain a current CPR certification.
