Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Home Health Aide Job Description Title: Home Health Aide Reports to: Administrator Specific Duties: Perform personal care activities, including but not limited to bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and using the bathroom. Perform household duties, including but not limited meal preparation, light housekeeping, and running errands. Provide patients with mobility assistance Medication reminders. HHA must not administer any medications. Follow care plans and guidelines set by RNs, PTs, and/or OTs. Prepare and submit all documentation by established deadlines in conjunction with policies and procedures Report unusual behavior, changes in patient condition, refusal of care, home safety hazards, or any other pertinent patient information to supervisor Show flexibility in responding to the needs of the patient Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following standard precautions, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards. This list is not exhaustive- other duties to be assigned as necessary within scope of practice. General Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Must be at least 18 years of age Home Health Aide certification preferred Minimum of 6 months of work experience, preferably in home care, a skilled nursing facility, or hospital setting Possess and maintain current CPR certification Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills (in English) Covid vaccination
