Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Job Description
Job Description Senior Assisted Living is looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. REPORT TO: Director of Nursing POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: -LVN Licensure -Proficient oral and written communication skills -Current CPR certification -Current physical exam -Three professional references -Citizen of the United States or proof of the right to work in the US JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -Prepares and administers medications understanding the facility’s protocols for safety of residents. -Performs basic nursing care such as taking vital signs, changing dressings, monitoring catheters, and recording food and fluid intake and output. -Orders medical supplies, narcotics and medications. -Receives and logs medications in the centrally stored medication logbook -Communicates clearly with residents, families, physicians and co-workers regarding resident’s change of condition and nursing care. -Uses sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment and follow-up. -Provides first aid to residents when needed. -Documents activities and interventions done. -Works collaboratively with other med staff to ensure the safety and comfort of residents. -Participates in facility’s development program as requested. -Performs other duties as required.
