Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Responsible for enhancing and advancing the Smith Medical Group experience, with a particular focus on providing sincere care for our clients and their families. Exemplifying and advocating Smith Medical Group’s fundamental value of the golden rule, which entails treating others, including clients, family, and fellow team members, with the same consideration as we would desire for ourselves. Additionally, overseeing all aspects of clients' daily living necessities; providing support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) while fostering clients' self-reliance. Required Qualifications: To achieve success in this role, an individual must proficiently execute each essential duty. Language Ability Proficiency in reading and comprehending simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to produce case notes and correspondence. Aptitude to eloquently present information in one-on-one and small group settings with clients, and other organizational employees. Reasoning Ability Capability to apply understanding to execute detailed albeit uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Capacity to address problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Education/Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Certified Nursing Assistant License (CNA) certificate, preferred Verification Must successfully pass a National Background Check and Drug Check Negative TB test results (test must be taken within the last year) Must have an active BLS certification via the American Heart Association or obtain it before hire date Valid active/non-restricted driver’s license Valid active automobile insurance Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. On occasion, the employee may be required to sit, climb, or balance. The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing more than 5 pounds.
