Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Hands-on assistance to address unmet needs with qualifying ADLs; bathing/showering, dressing and undressing, mouth care, skin care, hair care, nail care; 2. Assistance with continence needs; 3. Assistance with Nutritional needs; prepare patient for meal time, feed patients, intake and output; 4. Assistance with body mechanics-turn and position, transfer, use of lifts, motion exercises, ambulation; 5. Assistance with home management, essential to the beneficiary’s care at home. 6. Assistance with self- administration of medication; 7. Assistance with adaptive or assistive devices when directly linked to qualifying ADLs; 8. Assistance with the use of durable medical equipment when directly linked to qualifying ADLs; 9. Daily documentation of services provided is accurate and complete; 10. Be Present and participate in quarterly supervisory visits conducted by service supervisor, RN.
