Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall direction of home health clinical services. The Clinical Director establishes, implements and evaluates goals and objectives for home health services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy. The Clinical Director also serves as the Clinical Manager for the purposes of meeting the Medicare Conditions of Participation As a Director of Patient Care Services ( DPCS ) you will: * Ensure plans of treatment are reviewed and assessed for appropriateness of clinical content frequency goals and referrals to other disciplines * Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including, but not limited to the Compliance Program: * Code of Conduct, HIPAA and Documentation Standards * Assists Clinical Supervisors/Nursing Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planning. * Provides help in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care to all clinical personnel as indicated. * Assists the Executive Director/Administrator in the preparation and administration of the organization's budget. * Supervise and coordinate the work of Scheduler, Field Clinician and other administrative office personnel, including reviewing work performance, motivating subordinates to work more effectively, identifying problems with performance and developing solutions to those problems, determining training needs to improve performance, initiating informal measures to correct performance issues and/or or making recommendations for formal discipline * Oversee clinical records according to CMS guidelines. Evaluate all clinical staff's performance for introductory and annual reviews * Conducts clinician performance evaluations annually, or more frequently if indicated * If functioning as Clinical Manager, would provide oversight of all patient care services and personnel including making patient and personnel assignments; coordinating patient care; coordinating referrals; assuring patient needs are continually assessed: and assuring the development, implementation, and updates of the individualized plan of care. Requirements: A. 3 years of management experience within the last 5 years in a home health or related health care organization, at least 1 year of which was a supervisory or administrative capacity. B. A California registered nurse with 4 years' experience within the last 5 years in a home health agency, at least one year of which was in a supervisory or administrative capacity. C. Capable work with KINNSER and Data Soft Logic (DSL)
