Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
The Registered Nurse Supervisor will determine services to be performed by the RN, LPN, and Personal Care Support staff in accordance with the physician's order. The nursing staff will be assigned tasks based on the medical condition of the client and their nursing needs. The Registered Nurse Supervisor will oversee medical service delivery in accordance with each clients plan of care order. The attending physician for each client must submit an authorized plan of care order in writing prior to service. The Registered Nurse Supervisor will provide supervision to the staff providing direct care. The RN supervision of staff will ensure that tasks are being carried out timely and competently while maintaining the rights, safety, choice and dignity of each client in accordance with the physician's plan of treatment and the agency's plan of care that is developed for each client. The Registered Nurse Supervisor will maintain a schedule for assessment to be completed to ensure assessments are completed in a timely manner. It will also be noted whether the identified treatment goals are being met. The following services may be provided: 1. Initial evaluation visit 2. Re-evaluation of patient's skilled nursing and PCS needs 3. Initial plan of treatment 4. Preparation of the clinical progress notes. 5. Coordination of services 6. Informing the physician and other personnel of changes in the patients' condition or needs 7. Patient and family teaching 8. Development of teaching plan and caregiver(s) competency checklist 9. Supervision and teaching other nursing personnel and PCS staff 10. Administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician 11. Total patient care 12. Written assessments to recommend tapering of skilled nursing/PCS hours or discharge from the Program. 13. Other services in accordance with and as outlined in the Georgia Registered Professional Nurse Practice 14. Other duties assigned by Directors.
