General Description A medication/treatment nurse administers routine and PRN medications and treatments in a timely manner, monitors & assesses for changes, promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multi-disciplinary team members, encourages a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families, follows standards of care set by State Board of Nursing, State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations. This nurse along with the team, protects patients and others by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations, documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records and more. We are looking for someone with the following strengths: Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures. Understanding of and ability to deal with confidential information with discretion. Reliable attendance for scheduled hours and willingness to work with the team to cover additional hours, vacations, holidays, weekends, as able. Maintaining perspective and a sense of humor, responding positively to changes. Handling people and situations with understanding, diplomacy and tact. Setting priorities and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner. Working cooperatively in a team environment. Problem solving and ability to handle unexpected/unpredictable circumstances. Initiative. Ability to work in situations involving frequent changes of tasks using different techniques, procedures or degrees of attentiveness without loss of efficiency or composure. Must have a genuine interest in caring for the elderly and long-term care of residents. Must have competent documentation skills and ability to use medical devices as indicated in a safe manner for resident.
