VENICE PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY

"trust me when i say this. DO. NOT. SEND. ANYONE. HERE! this place has given me the worst ptsd, mental health problems, etc. kids are treated like animals, an individual name Ms.Candy, literally called me a slut and had me isolated from everyone for weeks on end. This is wrong. This doesnt "help" anyone. This place should be shut down. everyone here (especially Mr.Chico) only want your money, they do not care a single bit about the kids here."

"This is no place for any human being. This is how it goes you get there they tell you . You can't have any of your personal clothes that they were uniforms there you only have therapy once a week you can never call your guardian it's rare if your therapist will let you call your guardian they do these things called restraints but they called them dropping you and basically it's when they hold your arms up and like they put their foot underneath your leg and you fall and you hit your head this place is very physically and mentally and emotionally abusive and their food there it's it's worse than jail food I would not recommend this place it's not healthy at all this will make a kid have bad social anxiety and isolate themselves and honestly give them PTSD."

"One of the worst treatment facilities ever. Staff are cruel and mentally abusive to kids. Nursing staff hand out wrong medications. Causing the children panic and telling them there is nothing they can do now. Therapy is almost non existing and at a minimum. Grievance's aren't field when the child asks to file one. Restraints done in a torturous way where the child is pleading for there life. Food is horrible and rice isn't cooked. Chicken is slimy and pink. Bathrooms are moldy and some don't even work properly. I'm surprised this place still has there license. It's such a joke. Worse than a jail! And DSS does nothing at all. More people need to make state complaints to SC disability rights. We had proof of so much abuse and it got swept under the rug. Please don't send your child here. It will scar them forever. "

"NEVER NEVER send your child here. Please believe me when I say that abuse and maltreatment happen on a daily basis here. I was here 5 years ago and I am still trying to heal from my stay here. This is a punishment, not help. I hope a caseworker may see this and realize the harm they are doing to youth. "
