My grandmother was a patient at their short-term rehab and then went on hospice in their skilled nursing facility. She was on the 'Allen St.' floor. Short-term rehab was wonderful. Very clean, very friendly and dedicated staff. Everyone there was very informative and helpful. As soon as she made the transition to hospice, the staff got on board to help with everything. I didn't know how to apply for medicaid for her and they connected me with someone right away to help. They involved me in meetings with her team and kept me involved every step of the way. The skilled nursing facility was clean and the staff there is truly exceptional. The aides and nurses there care very much about the residents and my grandma was always clean, comfortable and well cared for. They were such a comfort those last few weeks with her. The supervisor was also so lovely the day of her passing and the prayer she said over my grandmother was beautiful. I don't doubt that they're understaffed (as all nursing homes are at this point), but the care they give is amazing. It shows that the people who work there, are there because they want to be and not just for a paycheck. I will forever recommend them and our family so deeply appreciated every single thing they did.

My mother's experience at Phoebe Rehab on Turner St. following hip and wrist surgery was deeply concerning and ultimately detrimental to her recovery. After being discharged from the hospital, we placed our trust in Phoebe to provide the necessary rehabilitation to regain her mobility and independence. Unfortunately, that trust was severely misplaced. The very first night of her admission, my mother fell. This incident was never communicated to me by the staff, a shocking lapse in communication and patient care. This set the tone for her entire stay. Instead of receiving encouragement and active rehabilitation, my mother languished in bed. When she refused a rehab session, no attempt was made to re-engage her, demonstrating a profound lack of proactive care. The administration of her medications was also deeply troubling. Medications were given intermittently, and on multiple occasions, we found pills scattered on the floor. This careless approach to medication management is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about patient safety. Furthermore, my mother contracted C. diff during her stay at Phoebe, a serious infection that further compromised her health. Her appetite declined drastically, and we became increasingly worried about her overall well-being. It felt as though she was simply being left to deteriorate. After three weeks, her insurance company refused to continue covering her stay, citing a lack of progress. This was a direct result of Phoebe's inadequate care. The consequences were severe. Multiple assisted living facilities in the Lehigh Valley subsequently rejected my mother due to her perceived lack of rehabilitation progress. However, just one week after her discharge, with the support of a dedicated physical therapist, my mother was walking 20 feet or more with minimal assistance. This rapid improvement, achieved with simple encouragement, highlighted the stark contrast between the care she received at Phoebe and the potential she possessed. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Phoebe Rehab to any family seeking quality rehabilitation care. The staff's apparent indifference and lack of proactive engagement were deeply disappointing. It felt as though my mother was just another number, and those with complex needs were simply overlooked. We relied on the CMS ratings, which proved to be a significant misjudgment. I strongly advise other families to conduct thorough research and be extremely selective when choosing a rehabilitation facility. There are undoubtedly better options available in the Lehigh Valley. Our experience at Phoebe was a stark reminder of the importance of advocating for your loved ones and not solely relying on institutional ratings.

My mother was recently a patient at this facility. She was treated poorly, left to sit in her own feces for over an hour because it was more important for the staff to deliver lunch. Left in bed for days therefore she ended up with bed sores.Contracted covid virus, and whatever else was going around the facility. Which made her very weak on top of being there for physical therapy for a broken femur. Needless to say she was not up for much PT due to being sick. This was used against her, documented and reported to Medicare as patient refused PT. Back to the staff if your color was anything but white you were treated great. They spoke Spanish to each other while tending to my mother, which I find very rude and unprofessional. They had no compassion to her delirium as she suffered through UTI, excuse was she had no fever. Guess they didn't know you don't have to run a fever with a UTI all the time. But they are the professionals. Complained to administration all it did was make things worse for my mother. So just a warning. Oh and patients only had to wear a mask if they came out of their room, this one cracked me up. I said my mother's roommate has covid, give her a mask, the staff member wouldn't. I had to call administration to get her one. No common sense either.

My father was here short term for rehab therapy and it was a horrible experience. He lost a lot of weight and the portion sizes were very small so he was starving and the food was really nasty. They rarely had him do his therapy. They stole my dad's clothing and gave him ones that were not his but donated. I will not have him go there again! Also housekeepers get paid very low and are understaffed. I don't blame them for leaving. With that kind of pay anyone would leave.
