This facility is amazing and so attentive to patients needs. My grandmother is a patient and the care and services they provide are beyond amazing. The staff is always so friendly and respectful and really treat patients with the upmost care. Always very communicative with patients and their families. The administration lady goes above and beyond to make sure your family stay is amazing, she’s very lovely and always the best in communication. I would recommend this facility 10/10.
Thank you Harbor Villa Care center for caring for me while I had a spinal injury. The center is clean and the nurses were helpful. Especially thank you Angie for feeding, showering, and changing me. Also especially thankful for Anthony Tran and Eric for helping me with physical therapy and technology support. I appreciate everyone’s care here.
I had my aunt stay at this facility, and our experience was wonderful. The rehab team was amazing, the nursing staff was kind and attentive, and the DON made sure we were satisfied with the care. The admissions lady even checked in on us to ensure everything was going smoothly. We truly felt cared for.
Harbor Villa Care Center should close its facility until they can manage the kind of patients they accept. Close down until they are adequately staffed to care for people. Close down until they understand the law and patients rights. The first night at Harbor Villa the nurse told me "I don't know why they transferred her (my mom) here, we don't have the staff for this." I provided them with a Power of Attorney letter and Advanced Directive. My mom was awake, alert, talking, and couldn't wait to go home! The following day I showed up to visit, and was shocked when I entered her room. The overnight nurses had put my mom on a giant oxygen tank @ 15 liters! She was unconscious. It was 2pm and the nurses said my mom had been like this since they began their shift, saying "she's been in and out of consciousness" I asked what the doctor said. My mom wasn't seen by a doctor! The nursing staff made medical decisions for my unconscious mother without contacting me. They FAILED to call 911, failed to call a doctor, failed to call her son. I had 911 called. My mom is now on life support. She has severe Co2 poisoning, caused by their negligence. What can Harbor Villa Care Center do to help its patients? CLOSE DOWN Before you let your family be admitted here, look at the Medicare complaints for yourself and decide if you want your family here. ——————-3 months later———————— Tonight, my heart feels heavy as I process the devastating findings from the Department of Health and Human Services about the care my dear mom received at Harbor Villa Care Center. Reading the detailed complaint form feels like reliving a nightmare, knowing that my mom--and others--suffered neglect and abuse in a place meant to protect them. They failed to provide the necessary care and support for their patients. It's weird that I received the details tonight, exactly four months since my mom passed away. The audit uncovered heartbreaking truths: 2 out of 3 patients with conditions like my mom's were neglected and abused. One woman was even tied to her bed. My mom's chart was reviewed, staff were interviewed, and every single detail of my complaint was validated. The nursing staff admitted to it all. Harbor Villa failed my mom in ways that cut so deep: they neglected her worsening condition, made unauthorized medical decisions, ignored her advance directives, failed to communicate with us, delayed calling 911 despite our pleas, and admitted they were understaffed and unprepared. These failures sent my mom to the ICU, and on December 30, 2024, I lost her forever. This isn't just my story--it's a warning for every family trusting a facility to care for their loved ones. I'm fighting for accountability and change, not just for my mom, but for every vulnerable person still in their care. Please, hold your loved ones close and ask questions about their care. No one should endure what my mom did. Sadly Harbor Villa Care Center only got a slap on the wrist. Reading their "action plan" they wrote--in simple terms-- we are not legally liable and will do better next time. Review in 3 months. This is not a safe place for your loved ones. I urge you to view the complaints from The Department of Health and Human Services.
I've only been here a few hours, im pretty copl headed and can tolerate a lot of crap but so far I'd rather be somewhere else, i wasaccepted here yesterday, I hot her a few hours ago. Theu pit me on a room w I th an old messiah guy thst speaks no English and I speak no Spanish, there b arev2vtvvs thankfully but he runs this place like a camp counselor, lights out at 9:30, tv off close the door it's too bright in the hall way, I call for a nurse a half hour ago , 9 years ago I had a prostate procedure and sibcmce my heart surgery I've had to wear diapers, and 1/3 hours ago I started leaking and my gown is wet as well as the bed! And no one came yet! The bed im in os the wrong bed, should have been swamped out , the mattress is for patients with wounds or burns, plus the mattress is shot, oo can feel the metal bed fram underneath! The guy nin the next bed snores real loud and farts louder. Ithecsraff are all Hispanic or philipino or Jessica abd I can barely make out what they're saying. Ii don't like complaining but this is ridiculous! I have mo one to help me at home but oon so ready to go home om still wating for my bed to be changed and a fresh diaper. Im gonna wait to see how the food is if it sucks as much as what I've gone through km gone go home asap! I've been here over a week now, the food ? Mostly is good, a few reat meal, but often get wrong items. Breakfast this morning was unequaled fir me. I might be the youngest person hereand an out spoken. I feel ignored by nursing with the auction of Jonathan, Bernard. Kevin. And fewvothers I can't remember their names. They are great the orders have probably been in nursing and are bored or just jaded.i honestly don't get hie family who put their parents here can give it great reviews. Every patient is talked to has many of the same complaints. I think anyone who puts family here just don't want to care for them or can't. Most of the staff is freindly at first the facility is the nicest of the 3 I've been in in the last 3 years. It's nicely decorated. I'd rather drive a 60s or 70s car. Or a older ranch home rather than shiny new ones. There are so many things wrong with the facility that in my mindcare a simple fix but wiuld/might but into theprofits. Sadly its a larger facility and has a a turnover that alwaysbleaves open beds font bevdazzled by the apearance first looks are DECIEVING.
