Pros: Lauren in admissions was very kind and helpful. She was communicative and worked with me to get my mom in the facility quickly. The food was pretty good and a few people, such as CNA Emma, CNA Michael, and Lauren in admissions were very sweet and helpful with my mom. Emma was a gift from God and would even help me wheel her out and get her in my vehicle for medical appointments. She even lent my mom money to get her hair washed one day. The facility seemed pretty clean and residents were able to go outside or to activities if they wished to. I loved that I could go there 24/7 and that I could always reach a person when I called. My mom could call for help and someone would usually be there within 10 minutes. Cons: Many staff members were not kind or friendly to myself, as well as my mother. One nurse was just plain mean and my mom told me she was scared of her. Physical therapists seemed pretty good, but would not work with my mom on the days she wasn’t feeling good. One time she asked them to come back later as she wasn’t feel well, and the lady argued with her that it was a refusal. My mom was dying of cancer, but she was a rehab patient while I waited on long term care Medicaid to be approved. I called days before moving her there and was assured she would have a TV and dish channels. When she got there only her roommate had a TV and she was told to share with her roommate. This gravely upset my mom as all she really had at the end of her life was TV, food, and sleep that made her feel normal (her words). Thankfully Lauren was able to help and get her a TV from a rec room until my husband was able to get a TV, but this experience was very stressful for my mom, her roommate, my stepdad, and staff members. Even after her being there for two weeks, I was not able to get a care plan meeting set up despite multiple attempts on my part, as no one ever got back up with me about scheduling one. My mom requested to go to the hospital after being there for two weeks and having major breathing issues, and the head nurse tried to talk her into not going. Ultimately, my mom advocated for herself and was taken to the local hospital, but I was infuriated that she was sent there in just the shirt and diaper she was wearing with only her purse that she had grabbed. She said not one person offered to help dress her or even pack items for her. They did send a packet with a plethora of information about her with her to the ER, which I was told is protocol and I appreciated. My mom ended up dying a little more than a week after this - she spent a week at the local hospital then a day at hospice. I am very grateful she advocated to go to the hospital as I think she would have died at the facility that day if not. The only time the facility reached out to me after her death, was just days after inquiring about her long term Medicaid approval as they wanted payment. There were no condolences even offered and this was incredibly upsetting. I would consider putting another loved one in the facility again if they were not in the grave condition my mom sadly was and/ or they were not a rehab patient. This facility was much better than the one she had been at previously and I’m very grateful for everyone who helped my mom and I, but the experience could have been better.

I always enjoy coming to bingo on Mondays and Thursdays. The physical therapy department has helped me improve after my stroke, and most of my cna's do everything they can for us!

I came to this building over 2.5 years ago as a travel nurse. That should speak alot there as how I love and loved this building and its employees and especially the residents while being there. Alot of people write horrible reviews after they leave a facility but I want to praise it. This type of Healthcare setting gets lots of negativity and it shouldn't. It's hard hard work but it's rewarding and joyful. When I would bring people in the building they would instantly say how they feel sorry for you working here or how sad it was. Well yes it's sad but that's why I loved working there we bring joy , love and care to our facility the residents and their family becomes our family. Is it perfect no it's not but there's a hard working bunch of people that's taking care of your loved ones from the front office to the maintenance dept. Someone once told me "Agency Nurses" had exausted all their avenues of employment, how silly that was of that person. Some people just do what they love and being an "Agency Nurse" provides that luxury. I love and will miss everyone in this building and I just hope I left this building with a different perception of an "Agency Nurse." .
