After my mom's recent shoulder surgery, my mom stayed at NHC Athens for her recovery and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff made her feel welcome and comfortable. My mom said they treated her like family. The CNAs were attentive and compassionate. The physical and occupational therapists were all professional, patient and encouraging, helping my mom make progress everyday. Thanks to the incredible team for making my mom feel safe and taken care of. Special thanks to Shirley for going above and beyond and ensuring my mom receive the best experience possible. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a warm, professional and effective rehab facility.

We were very pleased with the care my father received. The staff are very caring, kind and loving. Anything we needed for his care, they were quick to provide. On his last day of life, staff were in the room with him holding his hand and talking to him. I am so grateful for the outpouring of love to our family.

I recently checked in to this rehabilitation facility and I have been thoroughly impressed with my stay here. Especially with the physical therapy staff. It is clear that Shirley has ensured that the PT and the OT team are knowledgeable and has tailored the rehabilitation program with the patients well-being in mind. I work with Stacy and she is attentive and is dedicated in ensuring that I receive the best care in order for me to heal. I also have to speak about the nurses and the CNA’s that have been taking care of me 24/7. Jackie, Hearty, Whitney, Kim, Clea, Victoria, and Deborah are amongst one of them. Shannon has lead a great team of nurses and CNA’s for patients to be treated with great care. Ultimately, this facility is clean, has great food, and truly cares about their patients and is where you want to be in when you need rehabilitation care.

I just finished having several weeks of physical therapy at the outpatient PT. My therapists were Kendra and Harold. They gave me such individualized attention. I was unable to walk when I went in from the pain in my back . When I had my last appointment, I left pain free. They really were the nicest and most Professional therapist. I would certainly recommend them.

This is the most extraordinary place! Starts when you walk inside, there is NO smell whatsoever. No foul smell, no disinfectant smell and no perfume smell that some places use to cover up foul odor. The staff is constantly friendly, kind,thoughtful, and professional to residents and family! And it's not just one staff member but all I've met where constantly across the board, RN ,LPN,CNA,SW,activities director. Administrator was also kind friendly and professional. Mom loves the food. And she's picky. She's also picky at being friendly but the staff has really treated her well and she's warmed up to them. In my 31 years working as an RN at a trauma 1 level acute facility that served a city with millions of people, I've seen alot. NHC is very good. The staff are hard at work getting things done and caring for my mother. The only thing is there could be more parking spots but the grounds itself is not huge so there's that.
