I am absolutely appalled with staff behavior. I called and left a message for the social services lady 2 days in a row with no call back so I call the front desk, all I’m wanting to know is whether or not we can pick up our family member for Thanksgiving and bring her back…simple question one would think. I tell this to the front desk person and he says “uh uh uh I think you’d have to talk to the nurse” so then I politely ask him to transfer me and he finally (reluctantly) agreees and I sit on hold for literally 55 minutes before I finally gave up, and now when I call back no one will answer the phone, I don’t understand why this is such a hard question to answer?? Do better, Avamere…or hire better because right now your staff is very unprofessional and rude.

This is my second time here. My first time I chose them because they were close to home. And that was about a year and half ago. This time I chose them because they were close to home again, but mainly because the staff is very good and caring and the p.t and o.t. are very good. The people that disperses the medicine and the meds nurse are very good and caring. Everybody is good and caring! I also like how they have bingo 2 times a week and you get to meet others there. The activity person makes bingo fun and you get to win prizes! I would recommend this place to anyone. The food is not bad either!

My mom is here now recovering from a massive stroke. She is a young, vibrant, amazing woman. So for her to suddenly need so much care has definitely been a big shock and incredibly difficult time for her and our family. But thankfully, she came to Avamere Beaverton. We love their staff and care team! And so does my mom. Nurse Tania, Juan, Hailey, Hannah, Sam, Mona, Megan, Debbie, Elizabeth, Dr. Chiruse- those are just a few of the amazing people taking care of her right now. We really appreciate them and my mom has made significant progress under their skilled care. It isn't easy sending a loved one to a SNF during a pandemic, in fact it feels absolutely terrifying. If you're researching SNFs right now, like I was just a little over a month ago, I want to let you know it's going to be ok and Avamere Beaverton is a great place. They are all one floor, with windows in every room. If you want to visit your loved one at their window, you can. We do all the time. It's tough not being able to go inside, but I appreciate how careful their team is and I'm really impressed with their Covid-19 safety screening and testing procedures. When you go to visit, you'll see how nice the facility is. They decorated the lobby really cute for Halloween and even did a fun, Nightmare Before Christmas theme. If your loved one likes bird-watching, this is a great place for them. You'll see bird feeders by almost every window! They have a really cute courtyard too. My mom tells me everyday how sweet the staff are and how much she appreciates them. As her daughter, I'm constantly worried and wondering how she is doing, especially since I can't go inside. I promise you, this team really cares. They appreciate proactive communication and you should never hesitate to reach out and be a part of your loved one's health advocacy. Anytime I was worried about anything, I was always able to chat with someone who helped me and made sure my mom was ok. I'm so glad we chose Avamere Beaverton, they've made a big difference in my mom's recovery and for that we are forever grateful.

I am surprised I'm giving Avamere Beaverton 4 stars after reading all the reviews. But I can only tell you of our experience. Overall it was good! Some issues though.
PROS: The staff! Most everyone worked hard and were caring for my mother, who is 92 and had a partial hip surgery. Ida, Flora, Sam, and Berlis are a few who took care of her. They were very kind to her.
The food. My mother is very picky and she liked the food.
The PT/OT. When I complained that mom wasn't getting enough and was in bed too much, they immediately worked her much more. But I did have to ask Social Services what the standard protocols are for it. No PT on the weekends.
CONS: Small rooms, usually 2 people to a room, 4 people might share one toilet and shower...it depends. No place to sit when visiting.
TV could turn on but not change channels which makes the time go slowly. Maybe just her TV?
Her bed broke twice. Fixed the first time but the second time she was left in the bed for an undetermined amount of time. She was getting cramps in her stomach muscles. It took me 3 hours of calls and requests to get them to give her a new bed which they did.
Bathing. Got one bath and it was good but then didn't get one for a week. Supposed to get 2 a week.
Overall I think they are understaffed like every place. This is just a tough situation and I do feel they did a good job. The staff outweighs the rest.
