SOUTH HAVEN HEALTH AND REHABILITATION, LLC

My aunt is here and we desperately are trying to remodel to get her out. The staff lie about basic needs being taken care of. Never give her a bath I have to bring her home so she can get basic human care. She recently was given a skin disease by this facility and we ended up having to get a permanent catheter just because they refused to change it and my aunt was constantly getting bladder infections. The staff would rather hide in little corners and play on their phone then do their job, and if you ask them for help they say "yes" or "that's not my job" either way you have to do it yourself. Therapy is great, but home care and basic needs will not be met.

I beg to disagree with the person who stated this facility was always clean. Today I was disgusted to find feces on the floor of the bathroom and on the sheets, sheets with urine left on the floor, supplies left in a bag on the floor, window seals and floor dirty. This person is a Veteran. Is this the way our Veterans are treated? They deserve better.

If you want a place that feels like family where the staff is kind and thoughtful this is a great place. The people here are not cold, they have lots of heart. They made my dads last days very warm and comfortable. Actavia, Alicia and Daniel were always going that extra mile. Please don't ever change, this really is a very special place and I will miss the sweet people I've met there.

I can't say enough great things about South Haven. I had to move my father from Chicago due to his severe dementia and into Skilled Nursing. I looked around and yes, there are places are that much "prettier", but their services and care are AWFUL! I did A LOT of research and chose South Haven. I am 100% positive I made the perfect choice. The staff was so wonderful and caring, from the nurses, the CNA's, housekeeping and everyone in administration. I was there daily and I would watch staff members who were not required to work with a certain patient and take the time to stop and them, feed them or just giving a loving hug. The housekeeping staff helped me when my Dad was falling out of bed while the nurse was on their way. My Dad was no picnic to deal with, he had the mean dementia, but they treated him with such care and respect. They also treated me and my family like family as well. It would be hard for me to name favorite employees because I had so many. Yes, it is an older facility but it was always clean. My father was always clean and they would call me when they had concerns about him. My Dad ended up having a severe stroke and they were so helpful and so patient talking me through the hospice care. There was so no rush. There was however, a lot of love, prayer and they helped me with the process of bringing him home to die peacefully with us all around him. Please, if you want the best care and love for your loved, choose South Haven.

I just want to thank South Haven for taking good care of my Mom on her Respite stays…. She is well known at this facility because this is where she resides on all her Respite terms!!! Great staff who loves and adore her whenever she’s there! Thanks again South Haven!!!
