Last year, my 87 year old mother was admitted for a short term rehab stay after being hospitalized with a severe UTI. She also has Parkinson’s and is in the beginning stages of dementia. We diligently researched facilities. We chose Putnam Ridge. How wrong we were! Space is limited here so I cannot begin to list the complaints in detail but overall, each complaint came down to the incompetence of the nursing staff. They are severely understaffed. The rehab staff was excellent but the nursing care was horrible. We visited every day. In just two weeks, we had several troubling incidents. We discharged Mom prematurely. We tried to contact the Director to no avail. (He returned our call AFTER we took her home) Cosmetically, Putnam Ridge is a beautiful facility with great rehabilitation staff but the nursing care is a disaster. They need an overhaul of their nursing staff, better communication with families and a desire to show genuine concern and empathy for their residents.

I like to share a little story April of 2025 I had a knee replacement and I was sent to Putnam Ridge.from Putnam Hospital . I didn’t want to go there. I wanted to go home even the first night was rough for me, I wanted to leave the bed was small and there was a Misunderstanding-with me and the nurse. Well, the very next day I was greeted by the 2 social workers, and they assured me to give them a chance that they will be able to accommodate and help me recover from the knee replacement with their rehab. First They exchange bed for a very Comfortable one. Thank you Me and the nurse sorted out our differences and I appreciate it that. I was greeted at the rehab center with people who care and help me get to the point where I went from a wheelchair to a walker and I have to give it to the rehab they are the best. I know I’m gonna miss some names, but I thank the social worker Mary I thanked the HR director Diane for helping me out with some Documents. Nadine, Sasha Luis The director of rehab and all the rest of the crew there's, maritza and Maria thank you for your caring and support. If I had to do it all over again, they will not be Doubt. Putnam Ridge facility will be the place I would choose. Five stars Facility. Thank you All and God bless the Putnum Ridge facility family.

They told my relative to defecate in his pants because the nurses didn't see paperwork which had been completed by physical therapist and would not take him to toilet. Line extension to operator does not work - hangs up. Although I was assured by his counselor this would not happen again, the same thing happened the second night. Could not reach nursing supervisor. Keeping this post updated

My father was there in March this year for therapy due to a fractured hip. As a 93 year-old with very thin skin, he was left in his depends for long periods of time. He also had a weeping wound that was not taken care of, and when I was there, I was constantly looking for someone to address it and they are so short staffed. It’s pathetic. The staff feels Overwhelmed and underpaid and I can sympathize with what they’re going through, but are afraid to say anything as they all need jobs. The ones that Are suffering due to all of this is our family members and the lack of training and the lack of support there! My father left with a stage three staff infection on his left heel when he was admitted into a full-time nursing home. Nothing was documented in the transfer papers, but was noticed on the intake documentation. Don’t get me wrong. There are some that take their job seriously which I commend but overall it’s the Staff that is suffering which intern makes our family members Not being taken care of properly

The residents look happy, clean, and content. The communication between staff and family is great. The activities are abundant and engaging. Dialysis room is spotless, Fay (HD nurse) took wonderful care of my husband and treated him with respect. She also knew exactly how to bandage his access site properly (IYKYK) I’m awful with names, so I cannot name everyone to thank. 👍
