REBEKAH REHAB AND EXTENDED CARE CENTER

Rebekah Rehab is the cleanest nursing home In the Bronx that I have been in. Every floor is clean and odor free everyday. The rooms are roomy and cleaned everyday The majority of the staff are friendly helpful and caring. There are a lot of fun activities for those who can participate and hands on activities for those who cant. I dont know how the food tastes but they serve a variety of dishes from many cultures that look appetizing. My aunt was in this nursing home for 8 years and I was very happy with the care she received. I knew I had made the right choice from day one. Thank you to the Rebekah staff for the love, support, and care you gave to my aunt and family.

My blood is boiling and my head and heart aches so bad. Before putting my mom in this place, I did a tour, I asked questions, specific questions. My main questions was, are you familiar and experienced in Dementia care? They reassured me, told me about specific floors that were dedicated to Dementia care. I would come here daily, not only to make sure that my mom was being cared for, but to even make everyone aware, mom has Dementia, sometimes even to apologize for something she may have done or said. As of lately this place has not only failed me, but my mom too! The communication sucks, the care is trash, the staff is rude, the CNA's are overworked and inexperienced! I could go on and on with the stories I have, but it's too much for now. I would just say, if you're thinking of placing your loved one here, be present, show up and advocate, ask questions, take a tour of EVERY floor, not just where and what they want to show you, do your research! It's a vicious cycle here. Maybe I'll continue to add scenarios and stories, possibly names, but my head and heart aches. I will add names and pictures on the next review.

I am a nurse and I came in today to see a patient. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff. I visited after 10am and noted most of the residents congregating in the day room. All The residents looked happy and well kept. I was assisted by social worker Maria Araujo. She was very pleasant, helpful, and greeted most patients by name. She assisted me while interacting with a patient and I could tell he was more comfortable because she was there. The patient also stated he is very happy to be here, which I rarely hear anyone say when living in a nursing home. I would feel comfortable sending a family member here. Please keep up the excellent work!

Beware of this Nursing Home. My father arrived 6/27. Do your research before selecting a Nursing Home for a loved one. Rebekah has been a nightmare. They deserve no star but I had to select one in order to post my review. 7/6 went to visit him he had a swollen hand no one was aware about and had no explanation. I was told they would inform the dr for follow up. 7/8 RN supervisor informed me he was being sent to ER because X-ray showed fracture. Still no one could explain how this happened. 7/18 11:14pm RN Supervisor leaves me a voice mail stating to call back for update on my father. I awoke to this voicemail approximately 4am. I called spoke to a women who informs me she’s a Sr but couldn’t provide me with update she would inform RN Supervisor to call me back. I received call back from Supervisor who stated my father fell off the bed but was okay. He reassured me my father was fine. Approximately 5pm on 7/19 A friend of my father visited him and called me to inform me she found him in wheelchair crying in pain. She informed the staff he was in pain. Then I was informed my father was being sent to ER because he may have a fracture hip. Currently my father still admitted in hospital with a fractured hip now considered bed bound unable to walk ever again. He is 90 yrs old deserved better care and treatment. I only turned to a Nursing Home setting because he has dementia and requires 24 hour care. His insurance denied 24 hour home care twice and he has gotten to the point he can not be left alone and requires medical care. The system has been challenging from the start. Please do your research on Nursing Homes and use the CMS website to research them further. I also contacted my local congresswomen and Ombudsman and they provided me with information that has been helpful in guiding me through this process. Do Not select this Nursing Home. Other patients family members warned me when I visited him. I regret sending him to Rebekah Nursing Home.

I am immensely grateful for the care my mother received at Rebekah Rehab. This facility is a wonderful place. She received therapy every day and the staff is very patient and knowledgeable.
