We were blessed to find Aperion Care Burbank when our mom was in need of short-term rehab after she broke her arm. From admission to discharge the entire staff was amazing. Mom looked forward to therapy every day! The facility is always clean, there are activities all day, and everyone is very friendly. The leadership teams listen and address any concerns in a timely manner. Mom was discharged yesterday and already misses everyone. Thank you Aperion staff for taking such great care of Esther.

My husband has done nothing but thrive since his heart surgery in February 2025, suffering with many setbacks along the way. This was not a first choice for rehab but thankfully the last! The staff from upper management through nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, cna's, and supporting staff have all been wonderful giving 100% to make this stay so very productive, he refers to it as his "home". The PT department is so dedicated to working with him to be a help for me when he finally comes to "out"! The NURSING TEAM including CNA'S, is always available to answer any questions or concerns or help with mobility. HOUSE KEEPING is very dedicated to clean and disinfect patient's rooms, bathrooms, hallways dinning facilities on a daily basis, which seems they're working round the cock which really shows!!! I know for a fact a certain employee needs a special shout out for his constant support throughout this facility. At any one time, Benito can be seen running around moving and setting up patient's rooms, IT service working on TV outage, housekeeping when someone calls off. He's always ready and willing to jump in to get the jobs done with a big smile moving on to whatever is next! The facility is been here for a long time and there's always maintenance issues that have him jumping through hoops to keep everything up and running without skipping a beat! Management team members can be seen visiting different patient's rooms greating by their first names making them feel that they are noticed and really do matter including family members!
Of course there are the normal patients and family complaints and issues that exist at any given time, cleanliness, room odors, food service etc. There's usually a very good reason and a temporary setback that gets remedied quickly! Staff shortage, a patient with special needs beyond their control, etc is not a constant issue and may take a bit longer to take care of ust because we're all human

My father loves it here and I’m going to make him a permanent resident. this is supposed to be the worst time of his life. after suffering from a stroke in February, thankfully the stroke cleared after a couple weeks. that happened while he was here. They nursed and cared for him with his mental & physical disabilities. Where I could not do thin on a constant. he is enjoying how life. this is where he wants to stay. Im doing everything I can to have him stay there and be covered by Medicaid. the staff loves him and he is enjoying all the things that they do during the day with the other patients. from some days finger painting, some days crafts, some days Bingo. having musical impersonators like Frank Sinatra or Elvis even gospel. there is a huge variety of food. The attentiveness and care by the nurses and staff and management is great. Everyone cares that your family member is being taken care of. with that being said you also have to be family and visit, not just to check on them, visiting helps their spirit, where they can feel comfortable that they’re gonna see you again and they can enjoy themselves there. My father is physically disabled & wheelchair bound & battling dementia. he struggles with conversations but most of the patients they do also and he feels comfortable around everybody. They don’t have to really talk and have conversations, but they know and sometimes they don’t know that they’re sick. He is enjoying this and he is going to stay there permanently. I love this place and I’m so glad I found it. I visit my father almost daily even if it’s only for five or 10 minutes to say hi. It’s similar to like dropping your kid off at a daycare center and they’re happy and OK and be like OK you can go now that’s how it is sometimes is when I come & check on him, justice to See how he’s doing and he’s good which makes me and the rest of my family, happy. the staff share videos and pictures sometimes of the activities that they do. thank you Liz for that. the staff is very good with communicating with you letting you know what’s going on medically if and when changes are needed. My father is a senior that needs full-time care that I could not give and would try to have done it using Medicare and working the 100 days with nursing home time and then 60 day reload time but he really wanted to stay full-time and that is the better thing for him. His way of life and happiness will be better at this time in his life and he’s OK with that and so are we. Thank God, we have Medicaid in the system for our senior citizens for people who do become permanently disabled and need full-time care thank God they have this. I hope that medicaid doesn’t get destroyed.

I am deeply disappointed with the lack of care, attention, and security protocols displayed by Aperion Care Burbank, IL; during my grandfather’s stay. From the very beginning, it was evident that guest check-in procedures were not being enforced. Visitors were able to come and go without proper identification checks, creating an unsafe and uncontrolled environment for patients and their families.
More distressing, however, was the level of care my grandfather received or rather, failed to receive. He expressed multiple times that he was not being treated with the dignity and attentiveness that every patient deserves. His concerns were brushed aside, and the staff’s dismissive attitude raised red flags about the standard of care within the facility.
When my grandfather was admitted, he was walking on his own. Yet, within a matter of weeks, after being subjected to excessive medication and inadequate care routines, he deteriorated to the point where he could no longer stand without assistance. It was heartbreaking to witness this rapid decline, especially when it was clear that it was preventable had he been properly monitored and cared for (bed sores) would have been prevented.
The overmedication without clear communication or justification was alarming, and as his family, we were left feeling powerless and ignored when we raised these concerns. The lack of transparency regarding his treatment plan only added to our distress. The telephones inside the rooms didn’t work the majority of the time. This man has lived alone since his wife passed away in a home with working phones and now he was completely shut off from his friends and family.
Families entrust medical facilities with the well-being of their loved ones, expecting professional, compassionate, and diligent care. Unfortunately, [Facility Name] failed miserably in upholding that trust. I sincerely hope this facility takes immediate steps to reevaluate their security protocols, patient care standards, and communication with families. No family should have to endure what ours did. Several times I tried to take my grandfather out for the day and was denied the opportunity as he was admitted without his permission. I wish the staff would’ve listened to me!

My aunt was a resident here I won't even begin to tell you how difficult it was being out of town and having your relative enough facility like this. Some of the nurses were very fine but that was a small percentage considering the rest were the nightmares that you hear about. I'm not going to talk about the fact that my aunt was dropped the nine mobile patient was not adequately cared for and dropped while being changed suffering a severe head injury. Also the last few days of her life the last two weeks honestly despite me calling them begging them to do something I wish now I had known I could have just call 911 myself. The day before she passed when my brother walked in her lips were dry cracked blood in her mouth on her teeth and lips because while she was hollering help me for almost a week no one did anything they gave her a Tramadol which anybody knows that doesn't do a good job with pain it just doesn't. But no one came in there and put moisture to her mouth or any of the basic care things that are done and the next day when he went the day that she did pass and I asked the nurse she keeps calling out help me she's in pain can you do anything about this this is not right she says oh it's no problem that they call out they do that often at this point I know that she had been 24 hours calling for help and none was provided to her from there finally they decided to send her to the hospital but by this point it was too late
