The staff are friendly and caring. Recently, the facility has upgraded the suites to include freshly painted walls and vinyl wood plank flooring. There is a kitchenette with a small sink, apartment size refrigerator, and cupboards above and below. I do wish the ones below could have pull out shelves to make it easier to get things out of them. My family member has raised concerns about the lack of fresh fruit and vegetables (everything is canned). However, I am aware elder care facilities have to follow federal guidelines and the food supply is ordered in bulk and pre-made products. To compensate, I buy fresh fruit, vegetables, and favorite perishable items like butter, jam, desserts, favorite coffee creamer, along with snacks (for late night munchies). I have some billing issues that are being addressed. Communication in a respectable manner has always settled any concerns. I always appreciated the face-to-face personal interaction. However, there has been a major turnover in staff and I miss having conversations with staff about the daily wants and needs of my family member. Overall, my family member is in a safe and clean environment with friendly caring staff.

I would like to start with the stars and they only got that because the aides and nurses the few they have do a great job to be short staffed!!! I came here 10/20/25 from OSU lumbar laminectomy and spinal fusion surgery and also had my knee done Aug 21 manipulation on October 13th. Originally I choose this place because it showed they had regular beds and they DON'T the beds are outdated and squeaks when your adjusting them. Your on a plastic pad that isn't comfort for someone that just had the surgery I had! So the two weeks I was originally was gone be here...I just force myself to do for myself to get out of here!!! The first day I arrived the doctor came and wanted to take two of my med script I came from the hospital with! Which both was NEEDED and I told her until you collaborate with my doctor you are not to change anythingb from my after visit summary report that I came here with. If you guys want to bring your family here that would be totally up to you but I will not bring my mother here... Nor recommend. If you are on a scheduled medication, don't plan to get it on a schedule. My daughter has to call her because they will ignore call button. I'm always 30..90 minutes off. They are short-staffed some of the people that's passing out the medication I'll see them just standing around. I've had to get on my roller and go out there and find my medication from the lady. It makes no sense that we have to get out and go and find the lady for medication and that's the ones that were able to move. Our room do come with a button to push which is really useful. They come here and they turn the light off. Don't nobody come in here and dress your issue unless you ring the light again and again that bell rings everyday all day and I'd have seen them people just sitting out their in their phones. I would advise anyone to come in here and ask all questions. Pop up on them visiting is 24hrs. The food is not something healthy for someone that's has diet concerns or have sodium issues or have any type of health issues. All they serve is pork products and carbohydrates. You do not get balance meals here at all. They look like prison meals for the most part that I've seen before on TV. It's just thrown onto a lukewarm compartment. I know I said I wasn't going to do this but after today I got worked up so bad it just made me mad. She did not want to send over my meds to the pharmacy like she's supposed to cuz when you get discharged you already be discharged with the remaining of the medication that they have on hand as and the ones that you have left in the prescription. She only wanted to send me over a 3-day supply of pain meds. Need me remind you. I just had lumbar spinal fusion surgery not even barely 7 days ago and she doesn't want to follow the refill medication as needed. I've reached out to my surgeon she's marking as urgent and shes getting back to me and she showed me that I will have my pain medication sent over to Walgreens as well as my blood clot medicine because the doctor at the facility said I no longer need my blood clot medicine. Once again you do not know my family history nor mines. I have a leg with chronic edema, the leg that had surgery and it's twice as big from when I first came in here that is a 30-day medication and she decided I don't need it but I called the doctor it will get handled. So once again my two stars is only for the nurses and the AIDS. They are overworked. It's like one or two person per unit. I done walk this area floor just by trying to get PT exercise. So my main issue is I was not getting my medication as prescribed... If I'm prescribed something every 4 hours that mean I'm to get it every 4 hours not at your discretion. I've woke up plenty of mornings 4..5am being stuck and stiff and in pain because I was not receiving my medication as needed. I'm just glad to go home so my body can really get rest and properly cared for. I'm frustrated angry and hurt for the disabled that can't move around nor have love ones that come and check on them! So if you got family POP UP!

If I could leave zero stars for this place I would. My best friend’s father is now dead. He was finally progressing and getting better and almost on the road to coming home when my best friend shows up and finds her father DEAD. Not his caretakers, not a nurse or an aid his own daughter who is now traumatized DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!

I am sharing a recent experience my dad had at the Canal Winchester Care Center. There were some good nurses and nurses aides. The physical and occupational therapist did a great job with my dad. The challenges that we experience were they were not consistent in giving my dad a shower on his scheduled days even though I requested he get his showers on the scheduled days multiple times. There were too many times when my dad was not up, dressed and ready for his therapy. The therapists would have to spend their allotted time getting my dad up and dressed. This limited his time for therapy. The routine for laundry was the family would be responsible for doing my dad's laundry. Someone at the care center decided to take my dad's laundry to the laundry room. Several pieces of my dad's laundry was lost. After complaining the majority of his laundry was found and returned to him, with the exception of one pair of pants. I spoke to Carlie the case manager and she agreed to reimburse me for the pants if I provided a receipt for replacing the pants. I provided the receipt on May 19. I was told the receipt would be forwarded to Charlotte in finance to handle. I spoke to Charlotte on June 2 and she told me the check was mailed on the day I spoke to her. I have called repeatly to get the status of the reimbursement check. After the initial conversation with Charlotte, I have called her several times and left messages and she has not returned any of my calls. The reimbursement check has NOT been received. I was told as recent as June 11, the check was mailed. I have concluded that the check was not mailed and I have been deceived. Before my dad was discharged from the care center, Charlotte was suppose to submit a Medicaid application for my dad. I was told by Carlie that the Medicaid application had been submitted. That was about 5-6 weeks ago. I was told on June 11 the application was filed. I discovered the Medicaid application was nevered filed. Another act of deceit by Charlotte and Carlie. Not a wise way to treat people or to run a business. Based on the negative experience I would never refer anyone to this business. A complaint has been filed with the proper authorities.
