I am so grateful for the care that my grandma received during her recent stay. the physical and occupational therapy team was absolutely phenomenal. They were dedicated, encouraging, and truly helped her regain her strength and independence, much faster than we expected. More importantly, the entire staff from the nurses and CNA to the dining and housekeeping teams were all incredibly compassionate and attentive. They treated her with dignity and kindness, and it gave our family such peace of mind, knowing she was in such capable and caring hands. Thank you for making this challenging time feel like a supportive journey home.

I've been so impressed with River Park Skilled Nursing! The facility recently underwent a remodel, and it looks absolutely beautiful and modern. The staff creates such a positive atmosphere. Specifically, the Activities Department is amazing—they excel at getting residents involved with each other through games, movies, and other engaging events. The Therapy Department is the best of the best! They are a sweet, highly interactive team focused on getting residents up and moving. Their constant encouragement and support makes a huge difference.

The minute I got into RiverPark in early September I wanted to leave. They put me in a room and no one came to see me, welcome me, assess me etc. I had knee surgery twice on the same knee is a matter of days and needed to be somewhere safe until I recovered. I had a walker. PT was an hour in the morning. Then I had 23 hrs to sit around until the next day. No PT on Saturday or Sunday.( I got there on a Saturday). i realize that is what Medicare will pay for so I can’t fault them there. The food was edible. The breakfast was always cold and I didn’t want to bother anyone to warm it up. Coffee was a joke. I would call for help getting up and mostly was just ignored so I had to get up by myself most of the time. The room had alot of obstacles in the way so getting up to the bathroom you had to be real careful. I have a CPAP machine and there was no one available to help me plug it in so the first night I slept without it! The nurses were good about bring me my medications esp. Lily but they ran her ragged working long long shifts. The night CNA’s were the worst. I would call for a pain med and they would come In, look at me and then turn around and leave…no response! It took forever to have someone come when you put on the light and then they would have an attitude like you were bothering them. The room was cramped. One chair for visitors. The day after I arrived I got a roommate! Thank goodness she was mellow but she was always on her light which Probably looked bad on me. The showers were twice a week. By the time I got a shower..counting days in the hospital and at RiverPark it had been 12 days! You would think they could make an exception. If you think I’m just a complainer, I have to tell you that I was an RN in a hospital for 40 years!!! I never would have treated my patients the way I was mistreated..not even treated. My lights were answered in a timely manner and when they entered their room for or from surgery I was there to see them and access them. I was friendly and accommodating. I was as at RiverPark for eight days and I couldn’t wait to get out of there. Now I know how the elderly people feel when they are dumped in facilities with no voice. I would never go there again..trust me! PS all these glowing reviews ..I can’t believe them. They obviously have a lower expectation than I had.

UPDATE: Two days after my mother came home and the first home health visit the nurse discovered two bed sores. This facility has been a terrible experience for my family. My mother has been overlooked at mealtimes, and only received food after asking for a sandwich from the nurses station. Meals are often missed, and when served, the food is cold and sometimes not edible. I have visited and found her upset after waiting hours for basic care like a change of soiled undergarments, while staff tell me they are not responsible for her wing. One nurse even admitted she was alone with 25 patients on an 18 hour shift rather than taking accountability. The building has a terrible odor. Rooms are shared with no clear space for each resident, and equipment blocks access to bathrooms so patients cannot use them safely. Care is even worse on weekends. On my last visit, another patient told me she could see that I was upset and said I had every right to be. She added that she cannot wait to get out of the place because, in her words, it had been a horrible experience. These four star ratings are misleading and it starts with hospitals recommending places like this. Residents deserve dignity, meals, and timely care, none of which are provided here.
