REHAB CENTER OF CHERAW

We would like to say thank you to the nursing staff, administration, activities director, housekeeping , physical therapy, dietary and to the residents at Cheraw Rehabilitation Center. Our son was involved in a motor vehicle accident in May. The call we received informing us of our son's accident was a parents worst nightmare. Chris underwent surgeries, couldn't feed himself, had no mobility and was transferred from bed to chair using a lift. Chris was moved to this facility in Cheraw for physical therapy. The entire staff has played a huge part in his recovery and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Chris is walking again and he is the best I've seen him in a long time, physically and mentally. We visited him during Thanksgiving and everyone welcomed us. The facility was clean and we met some very charming residents. Thank you all for caring for our only son. (Even when he is a little difficult). God bless each and everyone of you. Your job is hard at times I know, but just know that you each make a huge difference. Happy holidays to you all!!!!

This was the worst place that my sister could have ever put my mother. My mother was dying of cancer and they did not check on her as they should have. My mother frequently asked me to go up to the front desk to ask questions. Rather than talk to me the staff members chose to call my sister and start problems. My sister is a control freak with a POA. Because of the staff member she comes in and starts telling me that the staff was very distraught because I asked a few questions for my mother. My sister then forced me to leave my mother and it was the last day I saw my mother speaking. The staff in January 2023 were very rude and created problems between our family members by gossiping. When I was inquiring about the physical therapy (that my mother was asking for because it made her feel better and she was scared) they took it personal because I let them know my daughter was a doctor of physical therapy. The staff member told my sister that I was using that as an authority. The staff member chose to start issues in our family for no reason. The staff member told my sister, that I was trying to be a doctor. They told My sister that I was complaining about the food my mother was eating when in all truth, my mother said she could not eat the food that they were bringing. She asked me to ask them if there was something else. (You would think a dying person could possibly get something that they could pallet during a normal day and even more so on a day where they are starting to refuse eating). I was informed that my sister said to escort me out if I started any problems while I was there. The fact that I am a loving Christian did not cross their mind so they prejudged me before even meeting me. The staff alienated me from my Mother by taking a stance on me without ever meeting me. My mother did not have her soiled clothes changed, except for in the morning, and in the evening.. I would’ve loved to have gotten the care for my mother that some of these post claim. As a matter of fact…the only full star reviews (2) are from the same person who used “Gods Word” as their reason for Visiting the place. More like a post trying to create a good reputation. Also they did Not have a reason to be there or a family member. In January 2023 this was a one star establishment and the real reviews said they could not leave less than a one star. I would never ever put another family member at this place. My brother and I fought hard to Not have her put here. Seeing as the last conversation I ever had with my mother was the day that the person staff member caused family discord I would suggest it closes down. The staff here decided to play games with our last moments of awareness. I was not even allowed to do prayer with my mother without my sister saying rude things about my Christianity, Why? Because the person upfront started problems. I could absolutely go on and on about what a horrible place this is. I also went to the manager Angie. And she pretended to care about what I thought, but she also said she couldn’t say anything to her staff. Unfortunately, being at this location the last day I got to speak with my mother, the memory that I have of my mother is us crying. This is a crap crap, Place ** Take note of admission of neglect by stating it was over a year ago. So What!! It happened. Your staff are filling a spot. They are not compassionate caregivers. ***Take note of 5 star anonymous post all given at the same time. Unscrupulous deceit for grieving families just to make money. Shameful

My father went here after his heart attack and we were told he was on the mend just needed some physical therapy and time. I was shocked to see terrible bruises dry iv bags still connected to him, you could see bits from the cockroaches as they weren’t feeding him and he was to weak to fight them off. He died from malnourishment within 3 weeks it went to fast and I was despondent at the time thinking that surely I was mistaken but don’t make the mistake I made act now and avoid this death trap

This place has lied and told me my mother would loose her health care if I took her home on top of that the social worker would not release her medications to my family supposedly under advisement of her health insurance! All which today I found out is lies there has been a CNA who had been abusive towards my mother and yet is still been allowed in my mothers room if you love your family DO not put them here!
