My dad entered Forest Hills after two hospital stays and a failed rehab stay at another skilled nursing facility. This is not a five star Hilton, but it didn't matter. What mattered was the people, and how kind they were to my dad and how much they cared for him. I met with his care team early in his stay and even though he was going downhill, they still cared enough to make sure he was getting his OT/PT daily and calling to give me updates on him. Katie (sp?) at the front desk was always so kind when I walked in and loved to talk about OSU football. Frank, the administrator as well. The activities director Bri, always greeted me by name whenever she saw me. My dad passed away in early December, but I will never forget the kind people at Forest Hills that made sure he transitioned with dignity.

I don't think that staff should be able to make reviews. If I was able to give a negative star I would. Residents go unchanged for hours and sit in urine clothes. I know my loved one and roommate does not get properly changed our family has spoken to Dawn, and the issue are still not being addressed. Staff is constantly on their phones, even while trying to feed in and out the dining room. If the residents are not done, they take their food away from them because they're on a time limit. The place constantly smells like urine. My loved ones stuff is constantly being misplaced and has never been found. A fistfight almost broke out between the Nurses and AIDS. Another family has video she called 911 because it was happening in front of residents. Some of the AIDS are absolutely wonderful and some of them is downright nasty, and they talked to the patients nasty, you could even hear It through the walls and same goes with the nurses.

Do NOT leave your family member here. They do not take care for their patients. If something happens they always say we know nothing about it. Stuff is not documented, residents are not changed every 2 hours which is state protocol and theres bed sores. Residents are put to bed in the same clothes they have worn all day. No one deserves to be treated like they are. They are human beings and deserve to be treated decently.

I wish that they had negative stars. Because that is exactly what they would get...Yesterday I got a call from the nurse saying that they found my father slumped over in his wheelchair. He was shaking and blue with stuff coming out of his mouth, I asked, how long was he like that. Nobody knows she told me she just got on at 7 o'clock, my father had to be rushed to the hospital. He is not going to recover from this. There's been a lot going on that I've seen since my father's been there. A little over a month, we had to deal with urine, being dumped all over his clothes and in his closet, him not being changed, one of his pull-ups, weighed 1.6 pounds filled with urine. They was making his bed with urine sheets and covering them back up with clean blankets. That was just a few things we've experienced i've got pictures and videos of more. I've requested cameras due to the stuff thats been happening. I've spoken with other loved ones. And a lot of stuff that was happening with my father was happening with them as well. I got to where I was recording what was happening to my father. If you're loved one is in this facility I recommend you come and visit them as much as possible. You don't know what's happening unless you're there to see with your own eyes. I also recommend, if you can put cameras in your family's room. We also contacted the onbudsman for help Regarding these matters.

Forest Hills Center has been a blessing for my mom and for me for the last year and a half. The nurses and aides are well trained and care about the residents. Memory care is a tough job. They provide care to a large range of individuals with unique needs who may not understand or want the needed care. I really appreciate how well they adapt to accommodate each resident. No place is perfect but my mom no longer gets regular UTIs, she no longer gets colds or other illnesses and she smiles every day. Health and happiness is my ultimate goal for my mom and they have surpassed my expectations when compared to other places she resided. It isn't as beautiful as some facilites but they are continuously upgrading the facility, new furniture, new lights, new heat/ac units, wall activities and art geared towards the residents. I highly recommend Forest Hills Center.
