My dad was discharged here for rehab and really was suppose to be here for 2-3 weeks. Facility looks really nice from the outside. Inside was ok a little messy but pretty clean. It is an older facility. However there was broken glass on the patio that had been there for some time after a week after telling somelr, and I ended up picking it up myself. He had a specialized diet due to a ruptured gallbladder. The food was HORRIBLE and inedible. We had met more than once with the staff regarding issues with his care and diet. it was ok for the lunch after the meeting but after that, went back to the same horrible food (if you even want to call it that) and be the very LAST person to be served despite being directly in front of the desk which he was put there for closer observations. When he was transferred to that room they did not have the call bell there. I had to harass multiple people to get them to install it. Maintenance did do it so someone from the office had to do it. He had fallen out of bed at least 3 - 4 times. The food manager didn’t know what the word ‘poultry’ was and I had to explain it to her. I signed paperwork declaring what he could and couldn’t eat but it didn’t matter. There were times were quite a few times we had to send food back or have to request items (from their alternate menus although having. Standing order for them) because things were left off although clearly stated that he needed to have certain things to help him build his strength back. My family had to come in DAILY to try to make sure he was eating bringing lots of basic foods including green salad and fresh fruit (besides oranges) when he did get a green salad it was on a small cake plate, limp shredded iceberg under plastic wrap that looked like it’d be there for a few days. We weren’t sure if he was even breakfast because he seemed hungry, nobody could tell us if he did or how much. They’d always put water out of reach behind him and fed him things he shouldn’t have (like grilled fake cheese on white bread, neither of which he could eat but did because he was so hungry) eaten causing severe cramping that would send him to emergency. This happened twice. The second was because of dehydration. There was at least one incident where the nurse passing out medication left it on the table and never returned to make sure it was taken. When he wasn’t able to do physical therapy they’d just put him back in bed...never seeming to ask questions or report to drs if there was an issue. His blood pressure kept getting low but didn’t seem like they did a whole lot or notify the drs. Also on weekends security was non existent although there were people at the front desk who didn’t even greet you or ask you to sign in. Not once did they ever ask to come pick up his effects when he left the facility You could freely walk around the whole facility and no one would say anything which is a safety hazard. We chose this facility because of the good ratings and for it being supposedly one of the ‘better places’ for rehab that Kaiser would cover. We have two other neighbors that have complained about the food being terrible too when their mothers stayed there. If I could give this place NEGATIVE stars I would!
My family has had the best experience at this facility greenridge . I was very worried about sendi g my family there after surgery. I called and immediatly I was invited to go . I went that very day and the staff was so polite there was a young man pleasnt to talk with who walked us through the facility very clean and very busy . There were residents in a family room conversating eating and smiling . I walked passed the p.t room and noticed it full with staff and patients all smiling I was in awwh.. I decided to send family there . I am so glad . The staff is so caring and pay close attention to our family memebers that are there made me feel really good about my desision my family stayed for approx one month and I yet can say anything went wrong.. There is a young lady who shined when it came to taking her job to a higher level. She daily went above and beyond to make sure my family member was clean fed pain free happy over all . Her kind and caring demeanor made my family feel like they were in a loving family enviorment. HER NAME IS MS IRENE ((CNA)) . SHE IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST CNA THAT HAS EVER CARED FOR MY FAMILY MEMBER. Ivan, Alex, Patrick,Jazmine Thank you and a heart filled Thank you to MS IRENE...((CNA)) from the Whole Garcia family... God Bless
I am so saddened to see the low reviews. The only issue we had was it is a little run down but nothing that caused any issues at all! My mother was there for about 2 and a half months. I went to visit multiple times a week and she was always being well cared for. They kept good communication with me about any medication issues, helped with the hospice process, etc. The day she passed everyone was still so sweet and her favorite nurse even came to take a few moments with her himself. Even though she was gone, he pulled the blankets up under her chin and said she didn’t like to be cold. That is the kind of memory that will stay with me always. I knew she was loved and cared for when I could not be there. It takes an amazing person to be able to deal with the complexities of patients at this stage in life and I am so grateful for all of them! Thank you.
I had an overall great experience at this facility. It’s located in a quiet and clean neighborhood, it’s up on a small hill so you get a nice scenery! Really happy with the staff that helped me with my stay they were very nice, I highly recommend this place!
Since my mom has been at Greenridge she has gotten excellent care! I have seen too many facility’s in the past and they all have certain smells when walking in the building, not here. Here I have noticed the CNA’s take great pride in keeping their patients well groomed and clean with frequent checks on the patients that can not use the bathroom on their own. My mom is completely incontanent and they make sure her diaper stays dry snd clean. I have been caring for my mom at home for many years and it has gotten so difficult. I could never imagine putting my mom anywhere except for home. I feel completely at ease having my mom here! There has been a couple of times issues have arisen because no place is perfect but when I brought the issue to the staff they immediately helped me to get it corrected. One day when I arrived the staff came up to me and thanked me for the nice things I said about them when on a random state inspection nice things were said about them when the inspector went into my moms room. They assumed I said them, the fact is my mom told the inspector how nice they treat her and that she likes it there! My mom has never wanted to go to a facility at all! Knowing she feels safe and at ease here makes me happy! She has had several strokes and is nearly stage 5 kidney disease caring for her has been very overwhelming and difficult I am Grateful to Greenridge!
