GLENWOOD HEALTHCARE

This is my hometown and this poor sad little place has looked the same forever. It looks run down, dreary, and quite frankly like a place you would go to die. Even the sign is dirty/mildewed. Nothing about it looks inviting or homey. If I ever had to put my loved one in a care facility, I would drive right on past this one. I hope the owners see this and put effort into making the exterior appealing because if the inside is anything like the outside, how sad for the residents. Glenwood deserves better, the residents deserve better, and the employees need to know that the owners care more about the upkeep of the facility for it's residents than just about the almighty dollar. I attempted to visit the website but surprise it is not functioning. If you aren’t going to have an active website then remove it from your Facebook and make sure your Facebook is reflective of what your facility offers residents. Is the inside painted in cheerful, warm, welcoming colors? What do the rooms look like? What does the therapy area look like? What activities are afforded to the residents? Many people in the community don’t even know the nursing home exist but we desperately need the business to stay open. Make Glenwood Healthcare the place where people want to place their loved ones not the place they keep driving by.

The nursing home is under new ownership! Big changes coming! You can already see the difference being made over the 2.5 months I've been here! Glad to be a part of the great changes coming.

The kitchen staff work very hard to take care of the Residents food choices. Everything is cooked with love and care.

Rooms are dirty, patients are ignored or neglected, staff won’t move from behind the desk on their own without prompting, always on their cells, nurses and aids that rotate in have no clue when asked about status of patients (shouldn’t their be a turnover in addition to reviewing charts prior to entering rooms to speak with relatives?), bathrooms are worse than an old fashioned outhouse, staffing levels are subpar and no real empathy, sympathy or real feelings for their patients.
