My brother has been at Medilodge since June there are some nurse that care for my brother and I appreciate them. But my thing is they haven't done the therapy they say there doing then say there gonna do resortive care on him and take him outside. It's never happened maybe once and that's because I complained. I went up to see my brother and he hadn't moved him at all. I shaved him and told the Respiratory lady to change it she said she would do it and went to sat back down I left at 1030 and came back at 130 and my brother still was sitting there with a dirty track. And you look. For to certain people and they're just sitting on our butts doing nothing.

My mother has been there since March. When she left my home, she could maneuver the house with her standup walker with assistance. She used depends and RARELY had an accident. For weeks they were using diapers and encouraging her to soil them because apparently it’s easier to let her lay in it than assist her to the restroom. She lays in bed all day or sits in an uncomfortable wheelchair. We have been requesting someone to approve for her the uses of a lift recliner that we will provide. Assisting her in and out of this type of chair makes not only better for her, but the person assisting her. So many calls go unanswered and in the meantime, she has a sore on her tailbone. Days have turned to weeks, weeks now months. We even would supply a manual recliner, just so she would have something comfortable during the day. PS. She had a couple of falls so she isn’t being assisted carefully!!!

Medilodge of Grand Blanc is very very very sad place to have to send my parent for rehabilitation. When we took her in there she was able to communicate, she was able to feed her self, etc etc etc. And now she is a zombie. The room has not been cleaned very well bugs on the floor. Sits in dirty diaper for hours, finding a lot bruises, and now bed sores. And to have they move her from chair to bed, is a very rough way they slam them from chair to bed. Staff can not keep the same lies straight. And the biggest concern is watch there medication. The gave her medication that was not prescribed which made her a zombie. Please if you love your family members don’t send them there. What I know now I wouldn’t even send my dog there😢

My wife has been in this facility for over a year with with severe cerebral anoxia after a cardiac arrest. Care has been very good at this facility compared to some of the others I have experienced with my parents. I just wanted yo give a shout out to 2 special caregivers, Nurse Jessica and CNA Octavia, who are what I call weekend warriors. These two ladies are always going above and beyond expectations for care of thier patients. I have rarely seen them idle or on thief cell phones, but rather always doing special things for patients. Octavia always takes time to braid hair, do extra showers to help other CNA's who atre behind, and grooming patients who can't do things themselves. Jessica is always with her patients, if not doing her normal duties, she comforts them with conversation and listening. Both ladies always greet me with a smile no matter how busy they are and always make sure that my concerns are taken care of immediately. Thier priority is always thier patients. Medilodge and my family are very fortunate to have such amazing caregivers as Jessica and Octavia. I wanted the company to know what great team members they have working hard for us.

My husband was a lodger here until recently. He was verbally & mentally abused by a CNA @ this place. I'll admit the administrators took action immediately after I came there raising sand. The lady was terminated but another CNA & a nurse was involved as well. The administrators did what they could to make things better for him but I feel it wasn't enough. Some of the nurses there are kind & considerate but u have several that are lazy & non caring about the lodgers there. My husband had to call me on several occasions begging me to call Medilodge so he could be suctioned due to the fact that they was taking over 30 minutes to over an hour @ times to answer his call light He was gagging sweat was popping off of his head & he was filled with heavy secretions. One day he called in tears talking about taking his life due to the fact that he sat in his own urine and feces for over 3 hours & they claimed that the CNA was fired but Rose actually wasn't fired. She left to go to school for nursing. The nurses in the 100 & 200 wing, they sit @ the nurses station a lot & gossip instead of doing their jobs especially @ night where they slack the worst. My husband almost lost his life here. Per the ambulance drivers who took him to Hurley; the nurse who was in charge of him that evening told them that she checked on him every 3 hrs & he has a defibrillator and suffers from diabetes & a trake in his throat. They said that she should've been checking on him hourly due to his condition. The doctors was trying to wein him off the ventilator too quickly & he suffered mucus plugs & a collapsed lung due to this & was found non responsive in his room. Now he's back on the ventilator & has to stay on for a longtime or maybe until he passes away. Jayla is a nurse on the 100th wing whose certified in suctioning but always calls on Respritory to do it instead some doing it herself. My husbands call light was on for over 30 minutes. I looked in the hallway & she's right by his door refusing to answer his call light but texting on her cellphone. We had some horrible experiences here. I feel like most of the CNA'S & Nurses especially 3rd shift needs to be investigated on the 200 wing. All I got was an apology & Cassandra said that they need to do some retraining with their employees. I wanted him nearby our home & family. Now I have to send him farther away to another facility because he's afraid for his life & so am I. I never been around a bunch of people who are so non caring & drags their feet on the job. My feelings are really hurt for the poor treatment that he recieved here. This place supposed to be the #1 facility in Grand Blanc 😒 After what I witnessed I have to disagree with that statement. The 3rd shift nurses & CNA'S was stealing my husband's adult wipes from him & stole some wipes from my disabled cousin also who can't speak on numerous occasions. Sad but true. They need cameras in the patients room to keep a closer eye on these employees & hire better & more caring employees. They all need to be reevaluated. If u are considering placing a family member in this place PLEASE RECONSIDER! This is not place for them to be.
