ISLAND NURSING AND REHAB CENTER

My mom recently suffered a stroke. She spent time in the hospital, then at an acute rehab facility, and then at a sub-acute facility. We looked at many places, and hands down, all of my siblings agreed that Island Nursing & Rehab Center was the one that best suited our needs. It began with a tour of the center led by Joy, the Director of Admissions. Boy, did her parents name her appropriately. She was so lovely and put our minds at ease. What attracted us right away was the cleanliness, the warmth of the colors, and - to be honest - it did not look like a typical, depressing nursing facility. It had a lovely energy. When my mom actually got admitted we knew for sure that we had made the right decision. The staff here is fabulous. Truly, the nursing staff is so nice and attentive. The physical and occupational therapists were top notch. Our social worker, Kayla, was always on the ball. The room set-up was interesting - the beds in shared rooms faced each other rather than be set up side by side. While there is a curtain to divide the room for privacy, my mom and her roommate got along so well and were able to see each other so much more easily. The only negative was the food. And this may just be because my mother is a picky eater. There are many restaurants in the parking lot in back of the facility so we were able to bring her food daily. But our experience here was amazing. My mom actually cried when she left because she really loved all of her caregivers.

My Mom just finished an extended subacute rehab at Island and had a great experience!!! From nursing and physical therapy to even the laundry service - the people were wonderful !!! Highly recommend ❤️

My father had a recent stay at Island Rehab and I can not say enough wonderful things...first the facility has had a recent fresh facelift, from a few years ago when my MIL was there. So clean! His room was spacious and spotless. And the staff! Well the staff were just so lovely. They made time to answer questions. They always welcomed us when we arrived. I was so very impressed with the improvements made and with the care the staff gave my dad while he was there. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a facility for a loved one!

My brother has had several stays in rehab and always received compassionate care. He recently transitioned to long term care and again, the care has been wonderful. Joanne and Alexis in the recreational department have been responsive to this needs. John in PT has continued to guide and assist him as he works through this very challenging translation. Overall, the rooms and bathrooms and hallways are clean and clear of clutter. The residents appear well attended.

We would like to share our experience with Island Nursing & Rehab Center We are pleased to report the staff is amazing and personal. We are very happy with our choice for mom and all of the patients are well cared for by everyone at Island Rehab. Facility is clean and well kept. Personal needs of each patient is definitely a big part of individual care. We have seen special attention given to all patients. Thanks to all at ISLAND REHAB.
