My husband resides there due to dementia etc. The staff are very nice but very unprofessional, all but the office manager. She always tries to help you. The smell is very, very unpleasant & lingers as you leave. Unfortunately, I can't afford to just move him around.

My cousin has his mother in this place and we have been in there to visit a few times. To begin with the place is VERY Dirty and it smells really bad. I told him you have to get your mother out of this place. There was no where to sit the few times I visited with him. If you don't want people sitting on beds why not have places for them to sit. No one said anything to us and 4 or 5 people saw us sitting on the bed each time. Why wait until Thanksgiving when Rosie's bag breaks and you have to clean it up to finally say something to him when you damn well know people have been sitting there for months and you never said a word. But you wait until thanksgiving to finally say something because you're mad over having to do your job. Also my cousin is about as nice of a guy as it gets if he left upset believe me he had a very good reason.

This place is horrible the nursing staff is rude and don't help other departments when it's their job to do so the only time they do their job is when state was watching them but as soon as they left they were right back to being lazy they don't pass out trays like they are supposed to especially on the weekends when management isn't there the nurses are very rude to other departments in the building and act very childish

I try to visit my mother at least every other day. There is no where to sit in the room so I sit on the other bed seeing as there is currently no one else living in the room. I have been doing this for months and no one has ever said a word to me so I never knew nor assumed that this was a problem. Tonight a nurse was upset because my mothers colostomy bag broke and she decided this was the time to cause a problem. I understand it is a lot of work and a dirty job cleaning up a broken colostomy bag but it is her job. So she tells the other worker to tell me if I don't get off the bed I need to leave. She could have pulled me aside anytime in the last few months if there was a problem but she choose to make a seen right there in front of my mother on thanksgiving upsetting her aswell. This was clearly over her being upset about the colostomy bag breaking as this was the exact time she choose to address the issue when this same nurse has literally seen me sitting on the bed dozens of times prior. Afterwards I talked to the staff at the desk and they were polite and said they have to have the beds cleaned whenever someone sits on them. And that is fine if that is the case all you had to do was pull me aside anytime in the last 2 months and tell me. I certainly would have understood that and I would have brought something in to sit on but the way she handled it was absolutely ridiculous. Please understand This is not a criticism of most of the staff, as almost all of them are extremely kind and try very hard to do a good job and take care of the residents but this was about as unprofessional as it gets. The ladies at the desk handled handled things in a correct manner and were very professional. All you had to do was pull me aside and talk to me if there was a problem, and I certainly would have understood. Telling me I need to get off the bed or leave when there is no where to sit in the room is absolutely unnessesary. Upsetting my mother and creating a scene on Thanksgiving because you are upset about a colostomy bag breaking is not also extremely unnessesary and not a very professional way to handle things. On top of this my mom was sent to the ER a few weeks ago and almost died while in the hospital. The doctors at the hospital asked me why was she not sent to the hospital days earlier, and they said there was no way in hell Brickyard should have allowed her condition to get this bad before sending her to the hospital. This is the 2nd time they almost killed her by delaying sending her to the hospital when she clearly needed to be hospitalized. So at this point I decided I needed to make sure I visited Brickyard every 2 days or more if possible and checked on her condition myself because at this point I do not trust them nir their decision making at all.
