Very Disappointing. Continuously missed important information, extremely unorganized and very very slow. Slow to order and receive medication. They don’t follow spécifie care instructions. The nurses were very kind and the staff was friendly. The biggest issue is whoever is organizing or managing that place needs to get it together.

I am so thankful my mom was able to get her after hospital care at The Pearl. First of all this is just a BEAUTIFUL facility. It's like you are at a fancy hotel. It always smelled good there with some sort of potpourri that made the entire facility smell wonderful! Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. Mom was NOT the easiest person to work with (92 and some dementia) but the staff was so patient and respectful. I was impressed with their level of expertise and care they gave my mom. The food was also very good and there were many choices given to the patients there so that they can get good nutrition. Mom had several room-mates as her room was semi private and that is the only thing that was a little bit of a bummer because both roommates were hard of hearing and had their tvs on full blast. Mom is quite easy going and didn't seem to be bothered though! Mom spent three weeks here recovering from a broken hip and I just felt completely relaxed knowing she was in great hands at The Pearl. I highly recommend this facility.

If your loved one has dementia or is significantly impaired, you better plan to stay with them as much as you can if they are recovering from an illness or injury at this place. I was there with my loved one once of twice a day and that wasn't enough to ensure my loved one rec'd the care they deserved. After several incidents of sub-standard care and two trips to the hospital as the result of the failure of the staff to handle my loved one's medical issues properly, my loved one was moved to another skilled nursing facility. The facility is beautiful, the rooms spacious and basically "private". Occasionally the food was palatable. But over all this is just another health care "factory" with too few caregivers to handle the huge amount of work that is required from people who are in need of a skilled nursing facility. I expected it to be much better than it was. It's not a bad place if you are in fairly good condition and just need a little help while recovering from a knee or hip replacement, etc. and you can order food delivered, or you only have to be there a couple of weeks. Anything more serious, or for a longer period of time, think twice before checking in.

I'm writing this on behalf of my mother, who passed away March 2019 at The Pearl. My mother had dementia, which we handled at home until we couldn't function anymore. I moved her to The Pearl and for 2.5+ years, she managed there, with the help of their staff. They have 2 Memory Care levels with about 15 rooms each. The staff was very caring....dressed her and fed her and tried their best to entertain a group who was not able to respond mentally. Nurse Julie is top notch and did a fine job of enthusiastically holding the staff together. I can't remember everyone's name, but from the other Julie at the front desk to Alexis who dressed Mom, to the others who attended her in the last days, we are grateful. Their Memory Care administrators changed hands a bit, but Mom 'graduated' while Rachel was there. I have to say that during that difficult time the staff was at their best. We were steered to Signature Hospice, (Courtney) who helped Mom with her medical needs. Both The Pearl and Signature were sensitive, attentive and showed our family a lot of love and concern. We appreciate all that The Pearl did for us. Thank you!

I am livid with my mom's experience at The Pearl. Please do your family a favor and select another care facility. They could have sent my mom back to the hospital with blatant, repeated carelessness. They fed her food that she was not supposed to eat more than once even after I took the issue up to administration and was assured that it was being handled - it wasn't at all an the problem continued. They screwed up her medications so badly that she had multiple mini-seizures and would not verify doctors prescriptions when told that there was a problem. They put her in a room when the alert light was obscured from the nurses station by a wall and it took at least 30 minutes to help her with something as basic as getting a glass of ice water. Her hemoglobin is/was decreasing at a rate of about 5% per day and they failed to catch it - my mom is going through a transfusion tomorrow now that this has been discovered by the dialysis clinic. And finally, she left with bed sores. I only gave one stars to be nice. They deserve a half a star. However the front staff are really nice and mean well, but the level of care was careless. My feeling is that it's a chain-of-command issue.
