Please, if you have options when it comes to placing a loved one in care, look elsewhere before Regency. My grandfather passed away on the night of October 24 after months of subpar care from staff, not all staff, but some staff did not seem to care one bit about his health. He was bathed very irregularly, left to sit on the toilet for 30-45 minutes at a time, slept with a urinal between his legs because staff had no sense of urgency when it came time to help him go to the restroom or respond to his light. It’s now Nov. 2nd, and we have yet to be informed of the CORRECT time of death, and what the ACTUAL reason for his death was. We don’t know why there was so much time between his passing and when family was called, but his loved ones had no time to say goodbye. When they arrived at the facility, they were told he had JUST passed but family noticed he was ice cold, leading us to believe we aren’t being told the truth. He was in AFIB pretty much from the time he entered Regency until his death, which should have meant more caution from his care team I think. Two days before he passed, he was injected with a drug for nausea that is not to be administered to an AFIB patient without high alert monitoring because it very well could cause severe complications with the heart. For anyone interested please look up the side effects of this medication he was administered, promethazine ( Phenergan). Don’t pick regency if you want full transparency on your loved ones care.

I am at Regency at Lansing West right now and I am flabbergasted. There aren’t enough staff at night so when you press your call button it takes 1-2 hours. In most circumstances, I get up myself and go to the nurse’s station to get someone to help. When pain meds are needed post surgery, time is of the essence. I have also found problems with getting all of my medication, particularly the evening meds. I am treated for a mental health disorder so keeping my medications taken regularly is very important. I am told I cannot do anything without staff help but, in the evening and overnight, I have to take myself to the bathroom or wet myself. For the cost of this facility, I am amazed they don’t offer food choices for each meal. This morning it was sausage and gravy, at lunch time a pork loin with sweet sauce, and chicken tenders for dinner. It would have been nice to get the option of cereal for breakfast, and a sandwich for lunch and dinner. I will try to get hold of someone tomorrow in authority and discharge myself. This treatment is not acceptable.

I’d like to share my wonderful experience at Regency at Lansing West Rehab Facility, it's outstaning! The facility itself is clean and welcoming, but it’s the staff that make Regency such a special place.
