This place has really gone downhill the past few years. My father has been in this facility for about 5 years. For the first few years the care was decent. Although there were some occasional problems, the staff at least genuinely cared and tried to do their best. There were some truly great people there. Over the last couple of years the care has significantly deteriorated. This is not just mine and my mother's opinion (she is there almost everyday and I am there 3x per week) we have been told the same by multiple staff members. The staff on the hall where my father is currently located (Columbine) couldn't care less. My mother goes up there to see my dad almost everyday. She often finds him in dirty clothes, wet or soiled briefs, and sheets that look like they have not been changed in days. Many days she winds up changing the sheets herself! The staff never seems to know or care what is going on. My dad is supposed to receive two showers per week but often goes a few weeks without getting one. The staff consistently says "he refused a shower and we can't make him". So, we put a protocol in place close to a year ago where they are supposed to call us if that happens so we can tell him he needs to do it. We have had this meeting with them (including the head of the facility) MANY times and each time they talk about how things are going to change and they just need to implement new training. They NEVER make this call and keep giving the same excuses. My personal feeling is that they just don't do their job and then claim "he refused" as an excuse. I could go on and on with more examples of substandard care but I am going to save that for the ombudsman followed by my friends at a law firm downtown. Suffice it to say that I would NOT recommend this facility.

The administrative staff addresses a concern immediately. They are knowledgeable in every area of well-being including insurance and prescriptions. They are attentive and most kind to the resident as well as the caregiver. When the nursing staff is with the resident they make him feel as if he is their #1 priority. Comfort and care is who they are.

I found the facility itself warm and calming, with all the dark stained natural wood and beautiful nature pictures. I was very pleased with the care I was given. All the personnel, even ancillary staff, were friendly, personable and caring, while professional. I enjoyed them! My admission there was only for short term rehab. Able to be mostly independent, I was able to mobilize myself around the facility. In doing so, as a retired RN, with multiple years caring for the elderly in different settings, I found it interesting to observe the care given to other patients, many with severe physical and mental impairments. I saw them addressed by name, kiddingly teased and joked with, and given hugs(appropriately). I also saw tenderness and gentleness. My heart was touched frequently. I went to Orchard Park from the hospital after my surgery only because it was one of four facilities covered by my insurance and closest to my son's home. I truly feel I was blessed to have chosen it.

Orchard Park Health Care Center has been nothing short of a miracle! This facility truly cares about each patient and their families. Their staff has cared for my mother in such a compassionate, intentional, and supportive manner. The director, Nick, is so involved and connected with the patients. Every nurse and CNA has gone above and beyond to care for my mom. We have been helped by every member of the staff-the amazing admissions team, the welcoming reception desk, the activities director, the hair stylist, the dinning staff, and the laundry staff. The OT and PT department are exceptional and have worked so hard to get our mom walking again. You could not ask for a better place to care for your loved one.

I can't say enough about my recent experience with Orchard Park Health Care Center in Littleton, Colorado. The care my Mom received while she was there was quality. Very caring, authentic and I knew she was in the right place from the moment she arrived. I would like to say THANK YOU to the entire staff, you made all the difference during a very challenging and sad time for our family. Initially, my mother was in a different rehab facility and we were given just two days to find her a long-term care facility. Our Mom had done some PT at Orchard Park previously, and was always very happy going there. Special thanks to Ashley in admissions who remembered our Mom and gave my sister and me a true feeling of caring from the moment we called her to ask questions. Orchard Park moved very swiftly to help us with the process to get our Mom into the facility, thankfully they understand the challenges of healthcare systems. From there our Mom was given exceptional care both physically and emotionally. The center itself is very nice, clean, friendly and there is a feeling of genuine care from the staff. The food was MUCH better than her previous facility as well. Our Mom wasn't able to partake much in the social activities, but I witnessed some of them, and they seemed to be really caring and fun for those who attended. Over the coming weeks we communicated with people at Orchard Park including operations, physical therapy, social workers, chaplains, nurses, nurse assistants, doctors and other support staff. They were always on top of what needed to be done whether it was medications or attention. Most importantly, our Mom was comfortable and she felt safe. This was so important and gave our family tremendous relief. I live out of state and felt that she was truly being cared for. As the weeks went by we learned that she was nearing the end of her life. I'd like to thank Dr. Singh and his staff for recognizing and paying attention to what was happening and communicating with us to let us know what to expect. Thank you so much for this communication! Brenda was very helpful in getting us set up quickly with hospice. Berkely Hospice was amazing as well, they came very late one evening, after hours to ensure our Mom had the correct medications to help her through the night. Dr. Singh and the Orchard Park facility's relationship with Berkely Hospice was helpful and extremely comforting to our family. If you are in need of a facility for your parent or loved one, I highly recommend Orchard Park Health Care Center. I do not write many reviews, but this one is important to me because it is well deserved. To the Orchard Park Staff: I can't say enough how much I appreciate your facility. Dr. Singh, all of the nurses and nurse assistants, support staff and other staff who gave your time. When we lost our Mom, the care and dignity you gave to her was over the top. I will never forget your kindness and compassion. Thank you with all my heart and blessings to all of you. ~ Marty
