Dont let the new looking facility fool you. This place is terrible. My dad came here after a hospital stay because he needed rehabilitation and he stayed here for 2 and a half weeks before getting a UTI that got so bad he was delirious and began hallucinating that i had to call for an ambulance to take him to a hospital and they didn't seem to care at all. One worker told my Dad, who is a bigger man, that she couldn't help him because her back hurt… This same worker came in to help get my father back in bed once while i was visiting and he was having a hard time breathing so he was moving a bit slower that day and taking breaks and she told him multiple times to “keep it moving!” very rudely. The nurses at the desk were also rude any time i went to inquire about my dad’s health. I only encountered two people in the whole place that seemed to care and have the slightest bit of compassion and that was a Physical Therapist and one aide. If this is how they treat people who are there for only a short period of time, i can only Imagine how they treat their full time residents. Its a shame and it is crazy to me that they dont even pretend to be nice to people they just literally dont care at all. Its like when they went thru the hiring process, being rude was a requirement. Honestly, i wouldn't send my dog here for rehab. Please dont send anyone you care about to live here long term, the workers (WHO CHOOSE TO WORK HERE AND COULD GET A JOB SOMEWHERE ELSE IF ITS THAT BAD) will only be rude to them and i promise you will be unhappy with your decision.

My father left this rehab on Oct 19, and two days later his in home nurse said the wounds on his feet were some of the worst she and her wound care team had ever seen. Yes, my father is diabetic, but his feet looked NOTHING like how they looked upon his discharge. And I have proof! His foot was gangrene and he was admitted to Garden City hospital for surgery to remove the necrotic tissue. I would attach pictures but they are too graphic for most people to see! I have called this place about 20 times trying to get hold of someone who will explain what happened. No one will answer my questions (and they will probably leave a bs remark below, but we know what happened). My father had said his caretaker had not changed his dressing in over a week when he was there. What are these people actually doing??? Work somewhere else if you can’t take care of these elderly people. My father is now at another rehab recovering, cannot walk, with wounds on both feet and on his knee and on long term antibiotics for the infection. I am taking action, and I truly hope this place gets shut down. Please take your loved one anywhere but this place.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE!!!! Our experience was characterized by a mix of positive and negative interactions. Unfortunately, a CNA named Sally consistently demonstrated a poor attitude, frequently raising her voice and yelling at patients. Her behavior was disturbing and comparable to how one might speak to an animal. I advise anyone admitting a loved one to exercise caution regarding Sally's care and be aware of her behavior. It may be worthwhile to request that she not be assigned to care for your family member, although I am uncertain if such requests are permitted. Furthermore, I recommend admitting on a Monday or Tuesday, as we encountered significant delays in the admission process after checking in on a Friday afternoon. The administrative process was slow, and we did not sign the intake paperwork until our tenth day. Although the PA stated that we could discharge at will, subsequent requests to leave were met with unexpected requirements for x-rays and blood work, causing frustration. I submitted a formal grievance regarding Sally's behavior via a green grievance form but did not receive a response. As a result, I feel compelled to share my concerns publicly.

My mom was in the facility almost one month They treating her like family❤️ Every single person call her mom. my mum, she doesn’t speak English, but she was so happy. They respect her. They try to explain everything to her so I’m happy. I recommend a couple of my friends to bring their parents in this facility. I appreciate it every single person in Regency nursing home.❤️🌹🙏

My mom was in this facility for more that 6 weeks. Some of the nursing staff were phenomenal, including Dashawn, Hunter, Jennifer all on the rehab hallway. And then there were the ones on the opposite end of the spectrum - the aide that told my mom that she was able to care fir herself, and wouldn't help her at all. That aide was not allowed to work with my.mom, but continues to deliver her tray to her, tossing it down on the beside table so that everything spilled, or the nurse that stalled on doing my mom's discharge for 3 hours before going home and not telling anyone that we were still waiting to be discharged. She left my mom's meds, including narcotics tied up in a bag on the nurses station unattended for the entire 3 hour time frame. The Night nurse came in to turn off the lights and was surprised to see us still sitting there when she thought that we had left. My mom and I had gone looking for the discharge nurse multiple times, but couldn't find anyone. Therapy was spectacular in getting.my.mom up and motivated and meeting her goals so that she could return to her home. They were attentive and creative coming up with new activities to keep her motivated and interested in her therapy. And then there was dietary and activities. There was an activity aide that told my mom that she couldn't attend activities that were for long term only. When we questioned the activity director didn't act like she knew who we were talking about. And often no one would come and get her for activities, or would return her to her room after the activity. And dietary - when I asked about a diet guide, or something to show what my.mom was allowed on her controlled carb diet, the dietitian acted like she didn't know what i was talking about, and stated that the facility couldn't provide sugar free options, when they are OBLIGATED to do so. My mom asked for a salad with Italian dressing, she got every other type of dressing. She asked for a variety of desserts, which she is.allowed on her diet, but for every lunch and dinner for 6 weeks she recieved canned fruit in heavy syrup for dessert. She recieved more canned apricots than any person would ever want to see. My mom and I worked in long term care for many years. We have seen the good, bad and ugly of long term care. Regency of Westland has so much potential, but many miss steps!
